Colt Burgess lever-action .44-40 carbine. Shot it 5 times with light loads. Cleaned and now awaits my granddaughter's 16th birthday.

No safe queens - some get shot more than others that's all

I have a few I just have not shot due to shooting a lot of load testing. The ones not shot are Mil Surplus and most my pistols for awhile.

I also have several(only one commercial) firearms which I shot once and not again due to them being collector firearms. Example: I have 2 CMP Correct Grade M1Garands which are vertically new un-fired. I shoot one en-bloc thru each and put them away. I have another Service Grade M1Garand that I do shoot often. Now my daughter is not interested in them so at my age if someone comes along with the right cash I will sell them. I already sold many of the extras I had of all sorts of mil surplus.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

The only time I can imagine not shooting a gun intentionally would be if it were some sort of classic in immaculate condition. I'm not usually one for collector's items in general, so it probably won't happen, but it could.

I have some guns that I own for the "in case" sorts of scenarios, as well as a rifle I bought for hunting, because I want to hunt, but don't currently do so, so certainly, guns that don't get shot very often, but they are far from safe queens, they are fairly inexpensive guns that I just don't feel like shooting much.

Not really safe queens in the traditional sense, but I haven't shot my dad's duty and off duty revolvers just because I have plenty of others to shoot

              No safe queens here.
              I haven't shot the XD9 since I bought the G26

Grandpa's Colt 1903 gets shot every now and then, but not often, and except for wife's SA 22lr revolver, is the only handgun in the house that is not loaded 24-7.
Loaded mag next to it, but wife is under clear instructions that the Colt is a last resort, as I don't want it tied up in an evidence locker for 2 years.

If she gets down to the Colt, I'd better find a BUNCH of bodies in the living room when I get home

Nothing wrong with "safe queens." Collecting for its own sake, sentimentality, "just because" are all perfectly valid expressions of the Second Amendment.

Personally most of my limited range time is spent instructing... and probably will be until the kids are older. But there's not an iron in the safe that I haven't had out in the rain at least once. When the time is right, they'll get to come out and play, no hesitation.

The only guns that are safe queens are the one's my father brought back from WWII. Beat to crap, little value...except to me, best guns in the safe.

If I buy it, I shoot it. That includes an unfired NIB S&W model 66-1 that I got a few months ago. It remained unfired for, I think, 3 or 4 days.

Most of mine are "range queens." They live and travel to the range in socks & rugs. Most of my revolvers were bought used and have some wear but my 4YO & 2YO 1911s bought new both look externally like the day they left the factory.

It's weird but I have a like new 1968 10/22 sitting in the back of my safe because I feel bad shooting it. I already have a 10/22 I shoot all the time so I don't see a need to shoot it i guess. I should probably sell it, but unsure of its worth.

None of mine are safe queens. But they are most of the time in the safes. I wouldn't buy them if I couldn't shoot them. Gifts are different.

i'd keep the like new condition OldSchool 10/22 as a safe queen and continue to use the other one as my shooter; personal preference.
