LR308's get just as boring after a few months of owning it.

You just get a few more eyes and comments at the range when you pull it out. Bolt action? Bullpup? Be different.

When I got bored with my AR15s, I built a custom rem 700 in .308. I strongly recommend it, it's a big change from an AR and a lot of fun. It can get very spendy and involved very quickly though.

I love the AR platform but also will get bored from time to time. Got a FN SLP Competition gas operated semi automatic shotgun. I have never had a shotgun cycle this fast. A buddy(has a Jerry Miculik edition Mossberg comp shotgun) an I will just set up a crap load of clays on a hillside and see who can shoot faster and hit more clays. It's a absolute blast. Lately I have been getting into shooting slugs 50 to 100yds. Not easy to hit targets, but has been challenging and fun.

There are better platforms for .308. For the money I'd rather have a nice bolt gun, second choice an LRB, last choice a scar 17.

If you want a .308, look at an m1a/m14.

The only guns i ever get bored with are my ARs. It helps to have a variety though. Get bored with acog, switch to one with eotech. Get bored with that, switch to one iron sights only. Get bored with that, switch to pistol.

I thought I was bored with the AR15 so I bought a Sig 716 and had fun setting it up the way I wanted - Vortex scope, Geiselle SSA, Lantac Dragon.

Turns out I got bored with that also after I zeroed in the scope. I guess it's because most of my shooting is indoors.

AK would have been cheaper and might have been just as much fun.

Figure out what you want to do with it before you sink too much money into it.
