Believe what you want. I even double checked with the guy doing the PPT to check DOJ's website. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out two guys doing a gun transfer after stating its a private party transfer. Two of the employees even confirmed that they've always charged $65 for PPT.

Another thing, why would there be a $10 storage fee? The dealer has to hold the firearm for 10 days anyway.

Well, you need to educate your employees. Cause one of them messaged you after I had told him the same thing.

I did a PPT recently as the seller. The gun shop didn't overcharge, but it was like pulling teeth with them. Everything was an issue. I'm done selling anymore of my weapons. Too much of a PIA on the PPT part.

I think the BS here is coming from you and westcoastammo. What kind of gun store employee would think this is an out of state transfer when both the seller and the buyer are right there in front of him.

^^Did you call them or follow up. Did the buyer of the firearm post the op. No. I tried to clear it up and apparently I did. The bs is posting without evidence or by the injured party with no attempt to mitigate it. and yes only an uninformed employee would think that.

              Wish this forum allowed +1s.

Thanks for calling them, and I'm glad they responded too.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

Props to edgerly for clearing it up.

It seems like an issue where the employee was not clear on internet/out of state transfer vs PPT.

                Case closed. No more drama.

Apparently I post BS because I'm the seller not the buyer Go troll elsewhere.

                    Time to

                    1. Call before hand and ask for fee structure.
                    2. Before pen touches paper ask for fee structure again.
                    3. Find a private FFL and build a relationship.

I have used the same private FFL for all my gun purchases except my first gun purchase and 1 in person purchase at Turners. I used him for my 1 PPT when I sold a .45 to my boss. He has also built an AR for me and helped rough aim a scope on my bolt action.

I am the purchaser in question here. I was rather astonished at the $65.00 cost that I was quoted and charged. I would have gone to another shop, but did not want to drag Muffinman all over town. He is a stand up guy!! I

will be contacting the owner tomorrow. I have purchased guns from them in the past as well as reloading supplies. I like to try and support local mom and pop dealers. I did another ppt the next day, and this time, I did go to another shop within a very close proximity that only charged $35.00.

yes you could, but there shouldn't be a need to. the PPT fee structure should be well known to all CA dealers by now, its been the law for ~25 years. it is the DROS fee + up to $10 dealer fee. the dealer can charge less than $10 if he wishes but not more.

I assume that if I walk into a shop to do a PPT that they will properly follow the law. I don't ask them what the waiting period is. I know it is 10 days (240 hours). funny how all those dealers that can't get the $35 PPT right always seem to get the 240 hours right (before the new DES system made it harder to release early).

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Just chiming in with some support for WCammo. Ive purchased powder and reloading supplies a couple times over the last year. Super friendly and always had a powder in stock to fit my needs. Totally fine driving up from north county to hit them up.

Shame about the PPT fee. hopefully any confusion is cleared up. 65 sounds right for out of state transfer.
