Ignore that Toby guy, every post of his I come across is him being an arrogant snob.

The pigs destroy fencing, crops, water holes. The locals hate the things and would love to see them eradicated. Heck you can even spotlight them at night and not get in trouble. As I recall the non-resident fee for a 5 day hog hunt is around $50.

        Feral pigs by the numbers
        ■ Estimated number in Texas: 2.6 million
        ■ Estimated number in the U.S.: 4-8 million
        ■ Estimated annual damage to Texas agriculture: $52 million
        ■ Average litter size: Five-six
        ■ Average lifespan: Four-eight years
        ■ Average adult weight: 175-200 pounds
        ■ Record weight: 500-plus pounds

For those that say Heli-hunting isn't hunting, does that mean that me hunting in the beer blind near the deer feeder isn't hunting? If we feed the ranch road in the evening and then hunt quail in the morning is that not hunting?

Those that don't consider heli-hunting is a method of hunting are only giving your opinions (just as I am) and that Opinions are like ******** - Everyone has one and they all stink.

Only reason I wouldn't go on a heli-hunt is I'm a cheap bas**** and I can shoot all the pigs I want from the #2 blind.
Being from Texas, you probably know way more than me, but I would say your figure on crop/agricultural damage is WAY low.

You'll be in more danger than the hogs in a Robbie. Especially at those altitudes.

Bacon on the hoof...get you some!!! Bring a flat/stakebed & fill it. Kill & fill, repeat the process.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I just watched a show on tv Heli Hunter it was a good presentation. The hogs they shoot are picked up and processed immediately and are donated to local charities. The best harvest was with a shotgun with #4 buckshot and in the head areas. Outshot the ars by 5 to 1 ratio. I am going to Houston in couple weeks and going to look at duck club in Garland with him and scout for hog hunting. My bro is relocating there for engineering work on local highway contracts. My nephew is also living there. will keep calguns hunters up to date on what we find.

Just light them up and leave for scavengers. I don't eat pork anyway.

There was a feral hog hunt in Waco Texas the other day. 9 hogs harvested.
