haven't used public storage in years, but seems like firearms were prohibited by policy where I rented.. that may affect insurance claims if something was taken..

for my deployments before I retired, I always stored my guns in friends safe..

I just started filling another safe recently and I have plenty of room.. this one even has some AR's and my Barrett to keep them company..

let us know where you're and I'd be happy to help out a brother in arms
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

Buy a good locked case and leave them with a friend.

Nothing is covered for anything, unless you have your own insurance policy.
Ya... and that's different from anywhere else the guns would be stored, how?

Your apartment or house aren't covered for losses without insurance either. Neither is your car. Neither is the backpack your wearing. I figured it went without saying that you should get the $10/mo insurance policy, just like with anywhere else that you store guns.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

He already provided a clear and concise response to your question: he said "trust me" and then disappeared. What more do you need? lol

My guess is that he just doesn't like his job, and thus doesn't like the industry. Or his bosses are scumbags and so all public storage businesses must be run by similar scumbags.

The only pitfall I can see, which should be an obvious one, is when you don't pay your rent and they sell your stuff. Like everything else in life, pay your bills on time and you'll be fine.

That's a fair point, probably true for some storage places, so worth checking out before signing up for a particular one.

My last unit had a no explosives policy, but didn't mention firearms. I suppose ammo might have been a problem though.

Will you be returning to San Diego after the deployment, or going directly to some other location?

I am assuming you are Navy or USMC.

Check out the option of storing them at your current base's armory. Not sure if they will do that or not, but it could be an option.

don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.
