    Pelican Foam

So I just got these beat up Pelican Cases which are salvageable. With some time and work they will look brand new. Didn't pay a dime so that saved me a couple hundred easy. I have the 1700 and the iM3100.

Does anyone know where I can get the foam inserts for a decent if not a very cheap price?

    Where are you located?

Dom's in Livermore does custom inserts.Might not help if not close to you.

There is a Pelican place down in LA somewhere (I don't remember where) that I bought some foam from but it wasn't cheap.

There are many places you can get foam. 30 seconds on Google and you will probably find a ton. But there are a couple places that sell closed cell foam instead of the typical open cell stuff. Here's one place...

Ive used Foamerica in Gardena, 310-327-4321, www.foamerica.com. Hands down the best deal in town. If you're local and want to save on shipping they have a will call option.

I had a latch break on a pelican case. I sent several emails to customer service and never heard a word from them.

                    Thread Jack alert.

Not sure if this is the same foam. But we have a ton of scrap foam from PC's and POS systems at my work which is a hard milti layer black foam about 2" thick which varies in shape and size.

I was literally just looking at it yesterday for a project and wondering where to find some used or cheap. It can't be that that expencive since companies ship their parts in it all the time.

Anyone know what/where to get that foam at? And or free or cheap? I'm trying a new project for a like 40 gun toat. Need 3'x 3" blocks for my use.

Yes. It's Ed's Foam. great guy. very helpful and even though he is a one man operation he gets it done. I used to live in Simi and even though I'm in LA now I still go to him for my needs.

Personally i've switched to Polyethylene Foam vs the Polyurethane. It is so much more rigid and doesn't break down as easily over time and very easy to cut and template.

That is most likely the Polyethylene foam

Yea looks like the stuff you posted above.

What's that stuff run? I'm trying to figure out a PC store or warehouse that would have it for free. I work wear house and have some. But like I said mine is already small pieces and pre cut for PC and electronics we receive.

Edit- "wear house", gatta love auto spell lol I'm going to leave that one

That's badass! I might have to do my pelican configuration similar to this. So far I only been able to get 2 in the case but I didn't think about breaking down the rifles and utilizing the top part of the case. Looking for a custom foam place in the San Jose area as well if anyone can name a place close by.
