my friend has the SAA Muzzle on his SAA upper. Our experience is that muzzle is very sharp on the eardrums and is a huge flame thrower. He was shooting 5.56 Nato rounds with it.

Low blast muzzle brake choice?

Oh no, right when I thought I had it all figured out. Ok, I will just get the Kineti first.Comment

I'm using a standard carbine buffer with the excellent JP adjustable gas block. It's tamed back pretty good, at least as much as I can expect out of a 7.62 round. I like to shoot it when 5.56 seems too much like a .22LR.
Aftter an hour with that thing, 5.56 seems like nothing. It got me off my idea of spending $$$ to build a .308.Comment

I've owned and shot a few different ones. If your not racing someone and trying to cut tenths off your time it's an annoying waste of money. The percussion gives me a headache after being around it all day. I've changed to the birdcage and I'm happy. To the point of wanting to find someone that can remove my permanently attached pws fsc. And that's the mildest comp I've usedComment

I thought the idea of the linear comps is to direct the noise forward? So unless one is standing on the side close to the muzzle, then there's not much noise/concussion compared to regular brakes?Comment

Ha! Tell that to all my friends on our shoot at a BLM. It wasn't concussive, but had a really sharp sound. Like more treble less bass. If I can describe it, it was like a piercing stabbing jab on our ear drums. My buddy who owns it swapped it out with a spare birdcage in my tool box. Problem solved.Comment

Yes, that is the idea.
The holes only go forward so venting gas can only go forward and the commensurate pressure wave acts the same as it does coming out of a barrel without a muzzle device. Any perceived difference in the sound is coming from the gasses being vented through several smaller holes instead of one big hole. Linear compensators are no less loud than a crowned muzzle without a brake at all. They are not silencers, and you will still get ~155+ db sound pressure at the shooter.Calguns.net, where everyone responding to your post is a Navy Force Delta Recon 6 Sniperator.Comment

... But just the concept of a longer barrel having less noise. This should reduce the sound a little just from less pressure when it finally exits the gun cause the comp is adding a little length. Especially since it is spread over a bunch of extra 1.5 inch barrel pressure (divided over the holes) when it exits. Sure u will still get the crack. This is just like beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Some people say it works great while others say baloney.Yes, that is the idea.

. This is why I end up buying everything and selling them later.

You don't need a muzzle break on an AR. There's practically no kick as it is.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
