I stopped buying Rugers over 40 years ago. I had a couple of bad
experiences with 2 different rifles. I still think their best gun is the
Ruger 22 auto pistol. They came out a long time ago and even though
their triggers are not the best they are a good value. Pete

And here's a thread where a calguns user bought a "chrome lined" barrel, that turned out to be spraypainted.

Bill Ruger turned off a lotta people back when with his thoughts on magazine capacity. When I first got into shooting, I avoided their products like the plague.

Troy is the only company I am actively boycotting.

                    Oh.
                    My.
                    God.

I had no idea that scam artists made ("made" is generous) rifles! I have been reading with stupified fascination ALL about Hesse/Vulcan/Whatever...

Had to eventually take a look at their website.
                    COMEDY GOLD.
It would be funnier if I didn't want to punch them for being gypsy liar con-artists.

Allow me to just put this quality excerpt here from the header of their website:

"**** We believe that the products we offer are the best in the industry, regardless of price.** Sure you can pay more, a lot more in some cases, but you cannot GET more, our prices are some of the lowest in the industry.* How can we do it?* The answer us simple; very low overhead. We do not produce a costly full color catalog nor do we spend a great deal of money on other forms of advertising.* We prefer to use our capital to make the best product possible.* This way we can offer them to you for less.** Make no mistake, we offer only the highest quality products, NO military rejects or cheap after market knock-offs.*

Hesse Arms is a manufacturer.* If we cannot find products which meet our standards, we make them ourselves by employing some of the finest CNC machinery that money can buy run by competent machinists who know gunsmithing.* We hold to the tightest military specifications, we have to, after all, we are a military contractor.*"

                    Wow.
                    Just. Wow.

Reasons sited are the mim parts used in modern models and the addition of the built in locks. You can find lots of hate from those Clinton Years.
they have the right to build them with internal locks and i have the right not to buy them; win-win.

+1,000 on never buying from the 80% of our guns work outfits

Oh, and of course: Hesse, Vulcan, Blackthorne.... or whatever else they are calling themselves now days.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                              (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I will never buy Springfield Armory because they licensed and use a historic name for a company that has nothing to do with the original place. I also don't like how they marketed the Croation HS guns as their XD series when the HS versions were already being imported. I know they aren't the first company that has done it, or something similar, but to me it was the most egregious example because the HS versions were already available in the US, and for MUCH lower cost.

I probably also will never buy Ruger because I think most of their guns are just butt ugly and also because I'm a S&W fanboy (I know it's stupid) and ruger is always beating them by just a few million in sales every year.
