    Need help buying a 1919a4

So I'm interested in buying a 1919a4 but still in the shopping stage and trying to get the best price..

I know Atlantic firearms sells them for $2500 which would come out to about $2600-2700 after shipping and dros..

Anyone know of a better place to shop for one..

I'm not sure how difficult it is to build on from a parts kit but I don't have access to a machinist if that helps..

Plan on spending a bit more than just on the 1919a4. While you might be tempted to shoot it from the hip, accessories like a tripod are nice. Additional costs can add up.

i would definitely get it with a tripod... my local gun store offered me a trade for my Scar 17s plus tax and drop for a 1919a3 with tripod...

i know EBR has them in stock and checked 191a4.com but to no avail t beat atlantic firearms price...

my goal is to sell the scar 17s and get the 1919a4 with a tripod with some cash left over..

There's a guy on the 1919 board selling his A6 1919 izzy. Look for Mechman_22 has it listed for 2K on gun broker with a reserve. Might be able to work a deal with him?

maybe... might be after a few hundred rounds lol..

my local dealer offered me a straight trade for 1919a3 with tripod (idk the difference between a3 and a4) less taxes and dros for my scar 17 s...

I'm thinking of counter offering even trade less dros only...

                    what think you guys?

I would do some more research and get to know all of the accessories you will need to make it go boom successfully. Tripod, pintle mount, headspace setup, the right kind of links, which caliber. There is a lot more to these than your SCAR and there are crappy builds and good builds, certain builders are known to create reliable guns and their builds sell for more. Which caliber do you want, .30-06 or a .308 or 7.62x54r conversion?

Talk to Cal.Bar, EBR Works and some of the other owners. Don't jump in with both feet until you learn whats what. You could make a costly mistake.

As Capybara said, try to find out who built the gun, before making a deal. There are 1919 builders and those who claim to be.

If you get a 1919 grab the A6 kit, its inexpensive, the carry handle alone is worth it. Note dont install the flash hider when in CA though due to AW laws.
