I find it laughable that after Snowden and Wiki Leaks anyone still believes the NSA and other agencies aren't collecting data on US Citizens domestically.

I personally find it laughable that many had to wait for Snowden to tell them that. A basic tenet of security is to assume that someone, somewhere, is listening/watching everything you do, and you then behave accordingly.

As far as gun registration and/or confiscation are concerned, if confiscation is one's aim there is no need to collect data, one simply assumes that everyone has at least one. That complicates matters somewhat, but it is much more effective.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

You have an odd perception of reality.

The act of 1947 outlines the legal scope of operation that the newly formed NSA in 1952 must adhere to...

It applies in the exact same way that any law in effect today affects what you do tomorrow. If you form a corporation tomorrow, you must adhere to all laws on the books, even though your corporation didn't exist when they were passed! *gasp* wild concept!

Back on topic to the OP and this thread, there's no need to make a database of gun owners, the data already exists and we willingly add to it's collection every day.

Have you ever bought a gun? Do you post to gun forums? Have you ever purchased gun related items online? Ever used a credit card to purchase anything firearm related anywhere?

Your data exists, and just like Facebook, we are constantly and willingly adding to this data.

Now, how easy is it to get this data? Easy enough for a determined person or group. The naysayers may not accept it, but the databases exist and are accessible. Does it matter? Yes, it does. Is it negatively affecting you? Not right now.

What is the NSA domestic spying program?

            NSA spying timeline.

The information found in this timeline is based on the Summary of Evidence we submitted to the court in Jewel v. National Security Agency (NSA). It is intended to recall all the credible accounts and information of the NSA's domestic spying program found in the media, official government statements and reports, and court actions. The timeline includes leaked documents, first published by the Guardian in June 2013, that confirmed the domestic spying by the NSA, as well as accounts based on unnamed government officials. The documents that form the basis for this timeline range from a Top Secret Court Order by the secret court overseeing the spying, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA Court), to a working draft of an NSA Inspector General report detailing the history of the program. The "NSA Inspectors General Reports" tab consists of information taken from an internal working draft of an NSA Inspector General report that was published by the Guardian on June 27, 2013. It also includes a July 10, 2009 report written by Inspectors General of the Department of Justice (DOJ), NSA, Department of Defense (DOD), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and a June 25, 2009 "End to End Review" of the Section 215 program conducted by the NSA for the FISA Court. For a short description of the people involved in the spying you can look at our Profiles page, which includes many of the key characters from the NSA Domestic Spying program. The documents published by various media outlets are gathered here.

MUCH more at the links. If this sort of gov't behavior bothers you, consider donating a few dollars to EFF to help pay for the lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Amazon and Google are churning through all your online data so retailers can sell you the next 5.11 pants and FDE MBUSs.

Good point. We should put everyone who wants privacy on a list, they could be the next unibomber. Im so paranoid I agree with the government, everyone is suspect. Watch everyone everywhere.

The data isnt collected domestically. Google and friends send the data overseas where its legal for NSA and friends to collect.

Snowden is a piece of ****. He ran to China with some very important government secrets. His 'NSA is spying on Americans' revelation was only a surprise to people with their head buried somewhere in the great plains.

As a resident of the greatest state in the nation im thankful for firearm enthusiasts who support gun rights from sea to shining sea.

The delusional folks who think anti american gun grabbers will stop at the CA state line are a hopeless bunch.

How do you prohibit someone from the constitution, if they aren't safe enough to walk the streets with a firearm they aren't safe enough to walk the streets.
