Bent slide on NEW Springfield Loaded, Pics added

Just got my new 9mm loaded and the slide is BENT! One side is concave and the other convex. If you put a straight edge on it you can slide a credit card under the center. I'll get pics soon. Calling Springfield on Monday. Pic #3 shows the bow the best. I have not shot it. The bow is right at the roll mark. The barrel looks like it binds in the slide. I thought the gun was just tight, but the slide moves easy without the barrel installed.

Maybe it was design to hug the body?

But, seriously, how did it pass the inpection from the factory.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

I do believe they're assembled here; the major forgings are done in Brazil and have been for more than 10 years.

The "modern Springfield Armory" 1911's have ALWAYS been made by Imbel in Brazil. When the Reese brothers joined their father's business in 1982 or 83, (he was the one who bought the rights to the name), they imported frames, slides and parts from Imbel and assembled the guns here. It's been quite a while now that the guns up through the Loaded models have been completely assembled in Brazil and imported complete.

The only guns that SA assembles here in the states are the guns that come from the Custom Shop. These are also the only guns they report as being manufactured in the US to the ATF.

The XD isn't even a SA design. Springfield bought the rights from HS Design in Croatia and promptly jacked up the price (used to be in the $300-$400 range). I would never waste my money on one. Did you know they had to change the finish on them in 2006 because of rusting problems?

Why did you buy it if the slide was bent? Did you buy a gun sight unseen and if so, why didn't you inspect it before bringing it home?

That piece of garbage should have never come with you, bad move.

The bow is hard to see. I didn't notice until I took it apart. When I set the slide on the workbench it rocked side to side. Not really looking for a bent slide on a new gun. You need a straight edge to really see it. I'm sure it could happen anyone. Thanks for the post.

That sucks. I was going buy one of these at somepoint but the Brazil thing kinda turned me off to them. What are some good hand guns made 100% in the USA?
