I like to pop a few because:

Im sick and i love the smell of gun powder..

No matter how crappy the week or day has been, i find the concentration needed for paper punching slows me down. Almost zen like.Breath, exhale, squeeze. Repeat.

Some nice folks there, and it seems i meet someone almost every outing.

No i wish i could have a ccw, but living in contra costa = no chance in h*ll.

Since i got this ruger hunter, i cant stop shooting the darn thing. Its accuracy is amazing. Guess i am trying to get tighter groups with crappy ammo.. not gonna happen but its fun trying.

How much do i shoot? 22's seem to disappear and my bucket is almost gone after 4 visits, my guess is about 400 - 500 rounds per visit with the 22's.

Also i tote, can be any one of 3 sigs in .40. Ar, or the Ak. Cheapest to shoot the ak, but being a mini draco, i warn others close, or ask if its ok to shoot the Mini. Lol most dont know how loud or how much flash comes out. Yeah baby lots of fun.

I shoot because i am. It makes me chill out. No i dont want to be a olympic shooter, trap or skeet, nor do i choose to become a long range shooter. My ar wears a eotech. Then mini draco has a strikefire red dot. Hunter has the bushnell red dot. Only scope sits on the new ruger 10/22.

Im also trying to break in the new 10/22 i just got. Fun little toy, but does that trigger suck big time.

ok, some of the reasons for range time. I hope i have answered the questions? I would love to go more, but i do have work and kids, and wife, also i part time on out board motors. Yes i fish too. Lol.

Im almost 55, grew up shooting with pops. Had kids, took some shot time off. Got back into shooting last year. I always took my kids shooting in the sierras every summer for the last 6 years but not much range time.

To me, it would depend on how many rounds you are putting down range. I only get out about twice a month but I'm shooting 500-600 round every time I go. Today it was 3 guns and 550 rounds, 400 9mm and 150 .45's.

When I shot USPSA, it was one a week to the range and a monthly match.
Sometimes it was 2 or 3 matches a month.
I also did a lot of practice drawing/mag changes/dry firing.
Evenings reloading helped keep it affordable.

I shot .45 ACP limited. Hodgdon with 230 grain ball made for a softer recoil than the Winchester 200 grain wadcutters I shot previously.

            Huge difference in recovery/second shot.

              3 to 5 times a week. I have too because I suck. If I didn't, I'd super-suck.

Just curious. Wifey would kill me if she knew how much range time i have been getting.

While some need a fix for the cigar smoke.

I need a fix for the gun smoke.

I go every week more than once.

I can only afford to go once a month. I usually bring 100-150 rounds per gun that I bring except for the mosin 40 rounds is usually enough for me. I wish I could go more but as long as I go once a month I'm a happy camper.

I go about 1/wk. Limiting factor is finding enough ammo.

I go dang near every Weds. Sometimes to plink and BS with club buddies and other times to do some specific training.

Frankly it's fun and therapy at the same time. Go as often as you enjoy and no more.

You're lucky to go twice a week if you have time and ammo to waste
go have fun. When I have time I go to my parent's private ranch and practice shooting there. No fee and No rule like wait 2 second per shot. But, always be safe when handling a firearm.

I was going 1-2 times a week, but work has gotten busy so I'm lucky if I make it 2 times a month.

Reloading is the only way I'm able to go as often.
