Range time, once a week enough?

After joining the local range , i find myself going once or twice a week. Is this too much or not enough? Mostly shooting 22s but have taken the others for a spin as well.
Just curious. Wifey would kill me if she knew how much range time i have been getting.

I bet you will find many are lucky to be able to even go 1x a month.

Once a week is my dream. Although, I would have to mix it up with some outside private land shooting to keep myself from getting bored shooting paper.

Afford
Get away with
Find enough .22/ammo
Keep having fun

All depends on the individual and the reason you are going to the range.
If you are a beginner and carrying a CCW, I think you would likely need lots of range time to become proficient.
If a range trip is 50 rounds, that will be a big difference from 200 rounds.

I really don't think there is such a thing as too much range time as long as you have time to take care of other priorities.

I shoot 2 to 3 times a week, sometimes only once in the week but that'll be due to something unexpected; illness, other family business or just bad weather.

My wife shoots with me and we don't have kids, so I guess we might shoot just a tad more than some. But I don't think that is excessive, we shoot trap mostly, sometimes a little bit of AR-15 and on very rare occasions, a few rounds of pistols.

I go once a week without fail. Usually, once a month my gal asks to join me or better yet, asks about going an additional day during the week. Yes, I have it made.

Enough for what? If you're happy, it's enough. If you're asking if it's enough to be confident with a weapon in case you need to use it, I'll let someone with more experience answer that.

With work and home life, for me it's once a quarter if I'm lucky. One day...

Yes or No. If you are going down to the range and just shooting to hear it go bang, you are wasting your time. On the other hand if you are holding hard and getting quality shots in, once a week is fine. The best way to judge your performance is to hang an official NRA target and see how your score stacks up. That gives you a reference and a goal. Without measurement, you have no standard for your shooting quality. Set a baseline and work on getting better.

I shoot as much as my wallet allow me. Ammo is expensive after a while

There is no such thing as too much! haha I wish I could afford to go once a week. I can barely afford once a month. But! Practice is important.
