Tell your friend to get a CA ID and use it instead of his license to buy guns. Those tickets shouldn't matter then.

a CA ID has the exact same number on it as your license, so that may not be a way around the ticket thing, it might still pop up...honestly, having a ticket shouldn't be a prerequisite for denial anyway but....CALIFORNIA

And if you flee to Mexico then you get to buy your guns from the DOJ who is doing so illegally. Which to me is the ultimate irony.

        Good luck OP.

              Some good info here.
If you had it already dropped to a misdemeanor. The hard work is done. Now you just have to verify it and get it into the system DOJ looks at.
It sounds like the charge was dismissed under a PC1000 diversion program. That is different than being reduced to a misdemeanor.

Under PC1000, the subject does not even have to acknowledge the arrest even happened unless applying to become a peace officer, a California Lottery employee or running for public office.

If this is the case, it sounds like the court did not notify DOJ about the dismissal. It seems this is pretty common, and one of the noted flaws in the Armed Prohibited Persons program.

Their point was YOU did cause this. Your own actions. How do you know it was some "lazy government worker"? There could be a slew of different reasons why the information didn't get communicated to the bureau of firearms. You're not a victim. If you are, it's a victim of someone doing their job.

                  Calm down.
God I wish I could act like a child for this that's funny.

That was not there point and them trying to nock me down while I'm venting isn't a good idea for anyone

And if the DOJ agent can't get the records from the court within the DROS timeframe then they have to deny you. It could be that the courts simply didn't get back to the DOJ because they're understaffed and your case was considered low priority.

But seriously, read up on the testimony for the court case regarding the 10 day wait that CGF filed. It contains every detail of the DROS process and you can find out where the error was and help correct it. Or you can make assumptions and gripe online, your choice.
I assumed cause I did read up. I didn't get put on a delay I was denied 1 day before I could pick up the gun.

                      THANK YOU,

That was a great response after all the others. It wasn't pc1000 it was prop 36 my charge were already a misdemeanor. (possession of controlled substance personal use)

This really is just miss notification and its aggravating

                          ok time.to clear things up

I started this to get help and the second I vent some of you try to put me down!? What is that your way of feeling better?

The bottom line is this system is messed up, I fixed my wrong doing did what they wanted me to do and yet because of a horrible system and most likely a lazy most likely liberal worker I got screwed. <= see that guys its called being mad and venting a little.

Do not reply to this board if all. You want to do is tell me I did bad. No **** I did bad. Or that I need to own up to the consequences because I have once 7 years ago and once again now as I go through the hoops that shouldn't be there not to.mention the costs.

ow back on topic I will be updating this board as I find out more. That way anyone with my issue or just dros denial issues can of something to read.

If it entered as an ID and not a DL it should work. Unpaid tickets get you a DMV reject because your license gets suspended. Your ID cannot be suspended.

Sure you can. I've gotten both at the same time before. You can even use them for your two proofs of residence when buying a handgun.

That's 100% correct. I am carrying both CA ID and CA Driver Licence in my wallet. However I didn't use both for my DROS. Instead, i used DL and DMV Registration.
