    BLM Ranger contact today

    And it was good.

Was out shooting with my wife today on San Diego BLM Land, and met who I believe is going to be taking the place of Ranger Funk, who is retiring soon.

He rolled up as we were loading up to leave, so all my weapons were already put away. Got out of his truck (Raptor, Nice gig) walked up to my wife, said hello & and shook her hand, then did the same to me.

We talked for 15 minutes or so, nice guy & seems like a straight shooter.

I asked what their plan was regarding fire closures and he said he's hoping they don't need to do it.

Let's keep ourselves clean out there and keep the new guard happy, so we don't get shut down.

Was a little warm out there today, but pretty much had it all to ourselves.

Got the wife zoned in pretty good @ 200+ yards with my AR today, she wasn't getting many hits on the 8" gong, but she was all around it and close. If it was a torso sized target she'd have been ringing it a lot.

Previously she's been quite content to just shoot my Marlin 795, didn't care for the AR and didn't really like pistols, but today she was liking the AR and she liked the M&P9. She was digging the Buck Mark too, 'til she got a bunch of FTF's & FTE's from the effin' Federal Automatch crap!

Spent a day in the great outdoors shooting guns with my beautiful bride, came home and had Pizza for dinner, Frozen Yogurt for dessert... Not a bad day!

Great way to spend your day! We live in a special place - I guess that's why us die-yards tolerate the crazy laws and stick around. Do you recall the name of the new Ranger?

Nice! Looks like a great place to shoot! Little too far for me to go.

"...which from their verbosity, their endless tautologies, their involutions of case within case, and parenthesis within parenthesis, and their multiplied efforts at certainty by saids and aforesaids, by ors and by ands, to make them more plain, do really render them more perplexed and incomprehensible, not only to common readers, but to lawyers themselves. Sounds like a great way to spend a day!

Too bad it's all the way down south.

            Sorry, not sorry.

Very cool. I have yet to meet the new ranger. I really liked Funk. Hoping to go out there very soon. Thanks for the report.

Glad you and yours had a good experience with RR, nothing better than a good Ranger.

My phone always tells me I'm on Mexico when I go out there. Stupid phone.

It will probably close again this year from lack of rain. I guess on June 1st.

                          Nice looking spot.
I haven't bumped into BLM in the 5 years of shooting at our spot.
That will definitely suck is the fire closures take effect. We have a back-up spot but it's not nearly as nice.

Great day. I'm jealous. My wife just can't get used to guns, the noise. It's not the noise from her weapon but that of other people shooting around us. I have a new club I joimed recently that we can be alone but I have not got out there with her yet, someday. As of now I guess I can say I'm saving money on ammo, lol.
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does a bear still s**t there?

Nice! Where is that? And I'm not asking for you double secret location, just what part of the state are you in?
