Is there there anyone that shoots at the Pala Indian Reservation in Valley Center?
Did you have a problems with the personnel?

I need to sight on a .270wsm, 300wsm, and a 338-06 at 200 yards and 100 yards, any problems, thanks.

I used to shoot in that area in the mid to late 80's. This was "Pala" very close to the bottom on Mt Palomar. Last I heard the one area became a campground. This area was a designatated shooting area, west of the hgwy & you'd shoot towards the west. Let us know what you hear.

I have shot there as part of classes, and well as pistol matches.

There are only a few oddball times of the week, on weekdays last I saw, that they have open range time. most of the rest of the time is taken up by various matches, or the range being rented out for training classes, or to various Gov't agencies for training.

Southbay Rod and Gun is open to public shooting basically all week and you can go out to 300yds, only cost $20 a day for non-members........if yuh don't mind the drive that is.

It is very nice, and out to 1000 yards. However, open shooting is on specific times, so I'd go to their web site to find out.

Same here. You could drive right up to the benches and no range officers.

No, just out shooting and collecting data, I'm in no rush that day. I can spot for you to help you zero in your rifles.

For sighting in, is it at a bench or prone on the ground. I would have to bring sand bags. I have a laser range finder and a spotting scope.

They have benches or allow you to shoot prone. I prefer to shoot prone given the chance. If you go to palas webpage there's a map with the target and their distance.
