              Deerfield IIRC is new model with 4 rd detach mag. Old one was a 6 shot tube feed model I rarely see locally.

              BDSMCHS's 77/44 is neat, I'd have one, a .44mag bolt action rifle. Bolt actions and pistol calibers are uncommon.

                Thanks Moonclip;
                It is a old one I believe. It doesn't have the barrel band on the stock. It has grooves on both sides of the stock. Beautiful gun. Maybe you can shed some light on the rifle as I've never seen another like it.

                  Wait till your firing pin breaks or have a problem with your mini or any of your other ruger firearms. Come back and tell us how much you like Ruger then.
                  The mini's have a flaw witch is the firing pin they break around 2500-5000 rounds and you have to send your gun to ruger to get it fixed for 100$ to fix a 15$ part. The rifle has been around for 30 years and they could easly fix the problem. They just like to take advantage and treat gun owners like ****.
                  I have sold all of my Ruger firearms.

                    Umm, you can buy a firing pin from Numrich or Midway for $30 if you want to do it yourself.

                    Ruger fixed my Security Six, bought used and 20+ years out of production, for free. It cost me $17 to ship it to them, they replaced 7 parts on it, and I had it back 8 days later. They paid for return shipping.

                        Ruger generally has good CS but they are very liablity concious and PC, so they don't like to sell certain parts to the public. I don't agree, but I do like their firearms obviously for the most part.

                        The poster that was curious about the older tube fed .44mags, what do you want to know? I don't own one or the new model but a good place to ask and learn might be rugerforum.com
