    mcguyver some gun lube

just curious here and play along or don't play. Say for some reason your gun is dry as a bone dry. For some reason you don't have gun oil AND can not get some. For some other strange reason you need your gun functioning within 5 mins. What house hold item can/would you use? No WD-40 No car oil.

      Any type of cooking oil.
Some of that hair treatment oil the females keep around the house.
      Hair clipper oil.
      Scented oils?

Run around for 3 min. you'll start greasing up when the sweat starts flowing.

One of my other hobbies is model railroading, so I would just use some of the lubricants I use to keep my locomotives running smooth.

No motor oil, OK I'd use ATF. I have in a pinch and it worked fine.
How about "light #1 machine oil" which is basically sewing machine oil, it works fine as a Rem-Oil replacement; I have a bunch of that.
Vegatable oils would be a last ditch choice because they go rancid, don't provide corrosion protection, and cook off at much lower temperatures..
