    San Diego rifle range

I was just wondering where people from San Diego go shoot their rifles? I just got my first rifle and want to shoot it at ranges in excess of 100yards. Thanks for the replies.

South Bay Rod & Gun Club. Their rifle range goes out to 300 yards. Best range for pistol/rifle for the money in San Diego County. $65 for a one year membership.

Thanks, Chief! Once my 10 day wait is over, I'll be heading out there to break in the rifle.

Oh, another question: I won't need to borrow my friends truck to get there? My car is pretty low to the ground and doesn't do dirt roads very well.

The road all the way up to the rifle range is a well maintained dirt road, now if you are planning on shooting your pistols, you might have to walk to the pistol range cause the dirt road that takes you to the pistol range is a lil messed up but your car should be able to handle it.

Pala is too far for me. I'm located on the San Diego city / Spring Valley border.

This place is very close! I think I'll go to South Bay Rod & Gun Club to break in my gun since that will be a long process and from what I can tell from their website, they don't charge by the hour. But once it's broken in, I'll have to check out P2K since it's super close to me.

                        Roads at South Bay

I was told the roads have been redone on the range. There not as rough as they were. The border fence folks redid them as a favor for using the property.

Go out to BLM land. It's free and you can find spots out to 1000yds.
Just don't litter. The sad Indians don't like that.

Rod and gun club is your best bet for that area. Pala and Escondido are the only other ones that I can think of that are longer than 100 yards.
