Can I say "Assault Rifle" again?

Now that all that 2013 AWB panic is over can I call an AR15 or AK type rifle an assault rifle? Or are we still calling them semi-automatic rifles or modern sporting rifles?


Or should I just call it a rifle? What is an "assault rifle" anyways? Are they rifles that fire an intermediate cartridge that have full-auto capability? Are they any rifle that was once used by the military? Is an M1 Garand or 1917 enfield an assault rifle? Or is it just any rifle that I choose to assault someone with? I don't understand.

I am neither yet I own a few assault rifles. I call them giggle machines since anyone that shoots them has a giggle and a smile when they are done.
