No...unfortunately I did not. I was a bit overwhelmed by the input that I was getting. I was just expecting to browse quietly.

The gentleman was older...very safe to say 70+...and he knows more about hunting ducks than most folks will forget I'd venture. He was anxious to get to share his experience.

The gal was polite very young early to mid 20's.

If I were local I'd certainly go back in. I did notice that their prices seemed a bit high....but carrying larger overhead might dictate that need ?

I've been to the Stockade many times throughout the years. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful.

You won't get the best price at the Stockade but you will find a great selection of products and generally knowledgeable people.

If you haven't been to the Stockade or its sister store, Fowler's Gun Room, I would recommend a visit.

I've always enjoy going to both the Stockade and Fowler's Gun Room and have been doing so for 25+ years. Never had any problems with their customer service. Respect and courtesy can go a long way and is a two-way street. Yes, their prices are somewhat high but, they do have a great inventory.

Yes and the helpful guy that helped with reloading for 10 years actually opened his own reloading store in Aniheim.

          Brian.

I've been there and bought components recently, very helpful guy.

I've been to both of their locations, even bought my first handgun, a Colt Trooper MKIII, at Stockade. However over the years their prices have crept up to MSRP+ for everything.

They won't deal at all even with cash in hand. I walked in to Fowlers ready to buy an Ed Brown Kobra Carry with cash in hand and they wouldn't budge on their above MSRP price. Went somewhere else and spent my hard earned money.

As far as knowledge the guys at Stockade seem more knowledgeable than Fowlers. I've seen some guys behind the counter at Fowlers give wrong info or not correcting customers when they come up with wrong info.

I have purchased several guns from the them including my .44 Ruger SBH Hunter and I only paid $609.99 for it. They are not your typical gun store when it comes to pricing but that doesn't mean that the employees are to blame. That is what the owner requires. I have and will continue to do business with them.
that's great if you happen to already be an employee's friend.. but most of us are not..

I have no complaints but I've heard plenty.. I've had decent service there, but I shop to buy, not look..

their prices don't bring me around often but they are convenient for a last minute necessity..
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

I bought an HK P2000SK for $200 less at Riflegear than Fowlers. $200!

Then I bought some mags at crosscreek guns for $40, when Fowlers wanted $56.

Sales guy at Fowlers was super pushy too.

I don't mind spending a little extra especially since Fowlers is only a few miles from my house, but I refuse to get ripped off.

Not to say you didn't have a bad experience with him, but I found him to be helpful, talkative and overall a good dude.

Yes, their prices are high, but they never raise them if the value goes up. In '97 I bought a new Colt Custom Shop Delta 10mm for $695. It sat in their store for 8 years. Bought a Crimson Trace chain mail 1911 laser grip for $250. I think it may have been mismarked.

I only had a less-than-stellar experience with only one employee. I shouldn't say bad, just the idiotic negative comments he made about the 10mm and the guns that shoot them that I disagreed with.
