So, you don't spread it to others, especially those in a demographic that are at a higher risk of not having a mild case. Another reason, if you yourself are in a higher risk category, such as over 65, you are probably going to be given the option of a Paxlovid RX if you test positive.

I'll treat it like I do any other cough or cold, and go about my day to day life as usual without doing anything differently.

I find the whole paradigm odd.. If your at high risk then you should really assume that no one else is going to bend over backwards to fix your problem for you, your going to have to fix your own problem.

I never understood getting tested. Positive or negative, if you're sick you're sick. Stay home. Knowing whether it is COVID or the flu helps out........... how, exactly? You're gonna treat it the same.
