A lot of my friends have had it. I bet 99% are vaxxed and boosted. They all describe it similarly, razor-blade sore throat, cough and sometimes fever. My mom (91 and fully vaxxed/boosted as of 2 years ago) came down with it, a mild sore throat and cough, but no fever. She lives in a Board and Care home and they locked down on 9/3. We just got the email today that everyone is now clear.

Wife and I are still pure-bloods thanks to this forum.

My last vaccination was11/2022. I had just figured if I was going to catch COVID, I would have already caught it. Looks like I made the wrong decision.

Meh. I’ve had regular flu that was much worse than Covid. Let’s not get everyone worked up over it.

I think it all depends on the person. I know people who don't believe in the wuhan/vax thing got the wuhan virus and said it was the worst sickness they've ever had.

I got sick 3 times between Christmas 2022 and July 2023. Each time was just some cough and runny nose. Was it the wuhan virus? Don't know, never tested. I didn't get sick between early 2018 and late 2022, and haven't been sick since July 2023.

I caught the nasty flu in early 2018. That was a bad one. I was in bed for 3 days.

I'm one of those. I'm convinced I caught it, twice. Once just after it got going, though it was spreading, in the States and before it became a named 'thing;' i.e., testing wasn't available yet. The second time, a couple of years later, an home test indicated it as COVID. Both times, it lasted 10 days, whereas a normal cold/flu has always lasted me 3 days or so. I passed out on both occasions and it's the only time I've passed out from 'the flu.' I've never been vaccinated and, as I indicated above, I only took antihistamines and Tylenol, slept a lot, and drank plenty of water

I visited that 83-year old gal in the rest home yesterday and, once again, they have COVID or someone who tested positive for COVID in the facility. Visitors are required to wear masks in the hallways. No one on her 'hall' has it and the nurses, while dutifully wearing masks, sit at the station with their masks pulled down and even have them, somewhat, pulled down in the hallways. Thus, I get the sense that someone tested positive, but isn't necessarily demonstrating symptoms.

That is the weirdest thing. I lose my sense of smell just about every time I get a bad case of cold or flu, for as long as I can remember. I didn't know that's not a common thing. I thought everyone lost sense of smell during flu or bad cold. I don't lose much of my sense of smell on something minor like the stuff I got in 2023.

Imagine my confusion when I heard that wuhan virus would make one lose his sense of smell. I thought "big F'in deal."

I only recently found out that most people don't lose their sense of smell during cold and flu. Recently as in about 4 weeks ago.

Have you gotten really really sick from the flu in the past? Maybe you don't get very sick from the flu and that makes you get very sick from the wuhan virus. I get very sick from the flu (about once every 10 years or so) but don't get sick from this wuhan virus.

No. I've never gotten all that sick from the flu or a cold and, similar to you, it's typically a good, long time between bouts. But, COVID has happened with me about 3 years apart. So, there may be some merit to what you're indicating.

My 95 yr old mother (Grass Valley) has had a cold for a few days. For some reason my stupid sister (Nevada City) made her get a test and it was positive for the Coof. My sister has been trying to get her to get a "vaccine booster for months but mom has said no more shots.

I think my wife’s cat has it, it has been sneezing a lot. I tried to make it take a coof test, but it just hissed at me and ran away. We are on the list at our local vet to get the cat a booster shot.

Cant have it if you dont test for it. I do know I got the flu last year.

But on the other side, last two weeks been having a bad dry cough, usually when laying down. Wife has had it worse. No loss of taste or smell, just a very annoying cough that makes it hard to sleep.

I thought I was on the mend after taking the Paxlovid. It turned out not to be the case. Approx, 3 days after finishing the RX, it started feeling like I had a cold coming on. Home test was definitely COVID positive. What has been missing from the COVID rebound is fever,,,,,there has been none. Razerblade throat did not come back,,,,,just a milder sore throat. I think I am close to finally getting the upper hand on the rebound. Cold symptoms are fading. A home test last night still showed I was positive. ...But, the positive indicator bar was more faded. The onset of COVID for me was Sept 10

Wife and I got it beginning of September. Pretty mild this time. More like a cold with an added fever. Wife had a fever for a couple days. I had one less than a day. I ended up with a pretty bad cough for a few days. So bad, it felt like I cracked a rib. Wife didn't get the cough but instead it messed up her sinuses.

Using the home test, I tested negative Monday night last week. I repeated the test Tuesday and Wed night last week and same result. My symptoms came on fast the evening of Sept !0. Did the home test first thing the next morning.... positive. First negative home test result was Sept 29.
