The chart is pretty good, but remember that it is very rare in medicine to have "never" or "always". The general rule of thumb is that influenza is the EXTREMELY rapid onset of symptoms, usually with severe muscle aches and possibly high fevers (can happen without fever at all). It is typically severe upper respiratory (cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, etc.) but tips offs are that the flu typically doesn't cause runny nose or diarrhea (although as with everything in medicine, it can for some people).
There is also a well tested, highly effective medication for the flu known as Xofluza. It had the standard 7-10 year trials and has been on the market for about three years without many reported side effects. If you think that you have influenza, you might want to look into this medication, but it typically only works in the first 1 to 2 days.

I'm just a guy taking all this in and trying to make sense of it as best I can like everybody else.
