The only side effect for me was a nasty taste in my mouth that lasted a few hours after each dose.

Same here, started it in the am and by noon the next day, I was feeling much better. The only drawback I noticed is that it leaves a very bitter taste in your mouth for a few hours afterwards.

There's actually a lot that you can do to improve your odds of having a brief, mild case that don't involve a pharmacy.

Number one thing is to boost your interferon, a powerful natural anti-viral that your own body produces. Take high dosage vitamin C and elevate your body temp above 101 (but not above 104) for 20-30 minutes once or twice a day. Repeat daily until symptoms abate. This only works in the first five days of infection, minimal or no impact after that, so don't delay. Hot soaking baths (diy hydrotherapy) is my preferred route but if you have a sauna or feel like sitting in a hot car then do that.

Get sun exposure in the early morning before 10 am or after 4 pm. You want the red and infrared spectrum, which will stimulate your body to produce a powerful intracellular form of melatonin (not the sleepy bedtime sort). This anti-oxidant exhibits strong anti-viral properties.

Zinc and quercetin (supplements). These interfere with the virus replication.

I would have confidence in all of the above before Paxlovid or Remdesivir. But doctors and pharmacies do not get paid to promote sunshine and vitamins, so it would be surprising to hear them recommend these.

        The choice is yours.
The one thing worse than defeat is surrender.

I get medical advice from my Dr.. I was asking if anyone had any experiences to share? I'd already filled the perscription based on said Dr.'s advice.

            Here it goes:

            STOP TESTING!
I only tested because I had symptoms consistent with covid and wanted confirmation. If I came back negative, I'd have figured it was a plain old fashioned cold, popped some Vitamin C and let nature take it's course. I have some other conditions which are known to potentially be issues and have had a couple friends hospitalized and near death from the WuFlu. I didn't want to follow in their paths.

Brilliant response. Better to suffer and feel like crap for as long as needed and hope things don't take a turn for the worse rather than turn to a viable remedy that might allow a return to normalcy in the short term.

I just recovered from this flu. From medication only Z-Pak to prevent secondary infection. Zink, vitamins, Sun. This is my second time, no vax, no s..t!

Hey, don't grouch at me, you're the one who contracted Captain Trips. Should have gotten Ivermectin, there's at least proof it worked in Africa. Hope you get better soon.

Similar experience, especially the bitter taste. I have been vaccinated

I'm in a "high risk" category so I took it. Stared the evening of the day I tested positive. My wife who was sick at the same time did not. I was better - no symptoms and tested negative - one week later. She lingered for about 3 weeks.

That's been 5 weeks and no reoccurrence of covid symptoms.

The medical establishment has been completely corrupted, and California basically criminalized doctors giving any advice other than the party line (vax and boosted). Cheap, off patent medications like Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine and the Ziverdo Kit (Zinc, Ivermectin, and Doxycycline) are your friends.
