    Paxlovid Thoughts?

Just came back from my first trade show in 3 years. It was a blast seeing many old friends. Shocking how many now have white hair! Had some good expense account dinners (and some crappy convention food). Our company pulled in 5 awards from key vendors. All in all, it was a success. Until Yesterday. I got home late Saturday and was tired, which is to be expected. By last night, I had a mild fever, headache and dry cough. Tested this AM and sure enough, after dodging it for all this time, positive for Covid.

Called in to Kaiser and they offered up Paxlovid. I got the script filled and plan on starting it tomorrow AM.

    Anyone have any experience?

It helped my girl friend last May when she first scored it. All though it helped with some Covid it had its own side effects. Still she credited it with beating Covid quickly. For me after I collected my first run with it early in September I chose not to take it. I felt like it lingered on and wouldn’t go away. 20 days later I still get a coughing spell once in a while. I’d pass unless you think you are at risk due to other conditions.

It's made and endorsed by the same people who made and endorsed the vaccines. I took it and I don't think it did a damn thing other than make me worry about wtf was in those pills

I'm not vaccinated and took Paxlovid back in July. I took it around 36 hours after feeling pretty sick, terrible headache and body aches and 102 fever. Took it with dinner, that night was rough but when I woke up the next morning i felt much better, by that night all symptoms were gone. The next day tested negative. The only side effect for me was a nasty taste in my mouth that lasted a few hours after each dose.

It works as long as you start it within 5 days of testing positive. My sister was getting her axx kicked despite being triple vaxed . Started Paxlovid and was better in a few days
Other than a metallic taste it's pretty low side effects. Just confirm with your doctors you have no kidney impairments.

I tested positive with symptoms on a Monday morning. Because I'm high risk, my doctor immediately gave me a prescription for Paxlovid which I filled about 1:00pm that day. Took first dose, woke up at 2am that night with all symptoms gone.

Tested negative 4 days later. You have to get it early and there is a risk of a rebound infection because it knocks down the viral load so fast the body may not build up natural anti-bodies. My experience was overwhelmingly positive but, I suppose you can listen to those who haven't taken it off your want.

Drink plenty of water. Get plenty of rest. Go out for some sunlight.

This is perhaps the most important part of this treatment.

                        Get ready for it.....

                        Here it goes:

                        STOP TESTING!

I wouldn't take it, will just give you a 2nd case of "rebound covid."

Covid is like a bad cold or mild flu. Even without medication the fever will be done in about 1-2 days and you'll feel normal after ~2 weeks.

Eat well (ie. add some fruit & veggies), drink lots of fluids (ie. fruit juice, water, chicken soup - not vodka or bourbon), light exercise (go get the mail), plenty of sleep. Thank me later.

I don't understand why people are so eager to pop pills for every damned thing. Just let your body work.
