Those that are experiencing sore throat: is it only a sore throat or neck pain too?

My wife has had terrible pain in her neck for several days and it is affecting her throat but not like a sore throat. Hard to swallow. Docs don't know what it is. Tested negative for covid on day 4.

Yes, that was the primary symptom for my son when he got C19 the first time well over a year ago. So bad he really couldn't even really drink water for a couple days. He was better in about 5 days with home therapies.

+1 on oil of oregano (Zanes Hellas Greek type), careful even one drop undiluted will burn like hell. https://www.amazon.com/Carvacrol-Ser...%2C162&sr=1-16

Another is Apple Cider Vinegar, gargle/sip undiluted. If using over an extended period of time rinse afterwards with baking soda/water to neutralize acid as it breaks down the enamel on teeth.

I didn't experience neck pain, only the severe sore throat and fever/fatigue. I'm sorry your wife is ill. I hope the doctors give her something that relieves her pain and reduces the inflammation.

Thanks for your reply I appreciate it. Sorry you had to go through what you did doesn't sound like fun.

They gave her Toradol an nsaid, a couple of times which worked but for only a handful of hours. We found that icing it has helped and seems better today.

It wouldn't be so bad if they knew what was wrong. But not knowing what to do or not to do to recover is frustrating and still have a doctor's bill on top of it all.

The Ba5 is slipping past most antigen and antibody tests. You have to assume it's Covid Ba4 or Ba5 at this point and proceed accordingly.

I just went through this. Tested positive Monday and the next four days were the worst sore throat I recall in my lifetime. Last two days it is going back to normal. Also had severe fatigue, the body aches and fever, mental fogginess but the sore throat was nearly unbearable.

My son picked it up at scout summer camp. He had fever for a day and that was it. I got it two days later and our experiences were not the same.
