Kinda. I’m 43 in good health. I’m on day six. Day two was the worst, with a fairly bad sore throat. Hacked up a lot of phlegm on night three and have been continuously feeling better since.

Breathing through your mouth, since your sinuses are clogged, from being sick makes it worse.

Some day or NyQuil could help. But don't mix with alcohol.

The perfect thing for that is boil water, fill your favorite mug with it, add fresh squeezed lemon juice or even that stuff in the plastic lemon, a good tablespoon of honey and 3 ounces of your favorite Bourbon.

Works miracles.

MUCINEX InstaSoothe Sore Throat + Pain Relief Spray worked great for me when I had the woo flu. Sore throat and back ache was the worst of it for me.

Sore throat seems to come from mucous post-nasal drip.

Treat with Alka-Seltzer Cold Plus (use the orange flavor, unless you like drinking chalk). Use warm water and drink the crap. All COVID symptoms which mirror flu/cold are in play. Once the nasal passages are dried up, the drip stops and the sore throat goes away.

Be sure to hydrate because the A/S tabs dehydrate.

I had the strep like sore throat when I got Covid a couple months ago. I didn't have much in the way of post nasal drip before the sore throat happened; although I had a few bouts of 103+ temperatures I didn't even feel the need for prescription meds.

Then on day 4 I felt my throat getting sore, by the next morning I couldn't hardly swallow for 2 days. The anti-biotic/prednisone combo I was prescribed made a noticeable difference within 24 hours on the sore throat and it was "mild" after 2-3 days. Hope you get feeling better fast!

The sickest I ever got in my life was from strep. Had covid 18 months ago and it didn't even stop me from working.

I usually do Ibuprofen and salt water gargle when it's bad, at least to sleep.

But of course don't over do either.

My started like throat tickle, not even sore throat. 2 days before I got tested positive. After 2 days it is gone and I start sneezing, very badly for 2-3 days. No loss of smell or taste, but modified feeling. Hand sanitizer smells like moonshine made from apples

This helped me when I had that terrible sore throat:

Six drops of oil of oregano in a glass of water. I've read it is nature's antibiotic. Did this twice a day. Gargle warm water with salt. This helps by decreasing the inflammation. Vitamin C, D, Zinc. Good ole chicken soup. I also found eating yogurt was very soothing to my throat as well.

I've been prone to sort throats most of my life, however the worst, longest one I had (years before covid) was not strep. I don't know what it was, I had no sickness otherwise, but it was brutal.
