I'm not saying it won't happen in the future but this is the first Google story I saw and it's from CNN so you think they would be making it sound more imminent than they did ....

" Hawaii MAY soon require travelers arriving from other US states and territories to have a Covid booster shot if they want to travel to the islands without quarantine or testing requirements.
Gov. David Ige said on a recent livestream show with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser newspaper that his office is considering changing its definition of "fully vaccinated" from two doses of an approved Covid vaccine to three."

I emphasize the word MAY and this story is from 2 days ago so I think it's the same thing this thread is about.

And proposed plan about the third shot/ booster requirement is only so you can skip quarantine and /or testing.

Now maybe the backpedaling on their position, I don't know.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like any of this requirement BS but it's not like they're not letting people into their State.

There's going to be some great real estate bargains in Hawaii in the future.

Before we grab the pitch forks and storm the castle, as sealocan above has stated, they aren't changing the requirements to enter Hawaii as "require all visitors to have a booster"

The title of this thread is misleading.

Agree or disagree with Hawaii's travel restrictions, that is up to you. But what they are changing is the definition of vaccinated. They are changing "fully vaccinated" to include those who are booster eligible to be boosted.

Otherwise it is as it was before, the traveller would need to either show proof of a negative test or quarantine for 5 days.

Hawaii Gov. David Ige hasn't said when new travel restrictions would take effect but Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi said the target date is Feb. 18.

Those who aren't fully vaccinated must provide proof of a pre-departure negative COVID test or quarantine for five days.

They don't need an economy. The rest of the 49 takes care of it for them. They can have their cake and eat it to.

As mentioned above, nothing much is going to change except that "fully vaccinated" will now mean boosted. For those that don't plan on vaccinating then a recent negative test (48hrs before travelling? or something along that line) will still suffice.

Those that never plan on going to Hawaii ever, are still never going to go to Hawaii.
Those that want to, still can regardless of booster status.

Good thing for Hawaii they don’t depend on tourism.

Boy, requiring boosters would be disastrous for any state that did!
