My turn to complain about vaccine mandates :D

My daughter is being refused entry to a cat cafe tomorrow (don't ask) on the basis of the following:

Per the new Los Angeles City vaccine mandate, starting November 8th we will be requiring all of our guests 12 years and older to be fully vaccinated (at least 2 shots of Pfizer or Moderna, or 1 shot of J&J dated 14 days prior to your visit). Guests 7 - 11 years old must show a Negative COVID-19 test result or proof of their first vaccine dose before entering our cafe. The PCR COVID-19 test MUST have been taken within 72 hours of your experience time. Proof of vaccines includes CDC card or digital equivalent. You will be required to show these items, as well as an ID, before entering our cafe.

The vaccine has been available for five whole days, and apparently I'm a bad guy for not rushing out to get her vaccinated at the earliest possible opportunity.

Never mind that five days after a first dose means literally nothing in terms of protectivity...

Full disclosure, I probably will get her vaccinated in the not too distant future, but as noted in another thread, I am waiting a few weeks to confirm there is no significant safety issue. Nonetheless, this kind of mandate is utterly absurd. I've opposed them from the beginning, on much more serious Constitutional grounds, and to see them backfire in such a trivially idiotic way is particularly poignant. Oh well.

I read 2 articles just this morning, from main-stream sources, LA Time was one, that LA City is already looking at ways to relax their mandate because it has been a disaster for businesses - big and small.

Malls have been empty, so they are looking at lifting it for that venue, as well as removing certain types of businesses currently on the list of those that must require proof of pseudo-vaccination.

I was getting an out of town guest to the Getty yesterday. They wanted proof of vacinnation.....LOL... I said goodbye and requested my $20 parking payment back!

I am not against vaccines for kids - just not with THESE pseudo-vaccines.

I think we're just several months to less than 2 years out from having better, much more effective vaccines with little to no side-effect.

Considering those under 20 rarely suffer any serious problems from COVID-19, and any deaths in those 12 and under is extremely rare (the vast majority of the 400 or so in the US all had serious other ailments like cancer or blood diseases) with their symptoms of COVID-19 proving no worse than a cold, I would NOT elect to get a kid under the age of 18 pseudo-vaccinated with THESE CURRENT pseudo-vaccines.

The risk is not worth it.

Data clearly shows the risk of serious side effects from these pseudo-vaccines in this age group of 12 and under, short-term and long-term (to date), even if small is still greater than the risk of suffering any serious symptoms of COVID-19.

This isn't the best thread for it, but I've been asking long and loud for precisely these data, and I haven't seen them yet. Just claims. Do you have them?

There's no club sir. We all have freewill to choose as we wish and only Christ can judge our hearts, not a pastor or the pope. Like I said, find Christ or at the very least try.
