    Covid is over in Sweden.

Covid still over in Sweden, daily deaths zero for a while now

    Remember:
    - No mask mandates
    - No vax mandates
    - No forced business closures
    - No school closures

They are far more 'free' than the USA

Serious question; How many people in Sweden have been vaxed, what vax was used, and when did any large scale vaccines start?

according to this site 53% fully vaxed plus 14% partial = 67%

No idea what the predominate vax version was used.

So, the virus was created by Nazi's to preserver blue-eyed blondes?

My guess is Sweden didn't bother with any lockdowns, etc, so the original strains swept through more thoroughly already, providing a stronger natural immunity across the population.

I'd like to see studies on this, but the medical establishment likes to pretend Sweden is less a real place than Wakanda.

To avoid being racist, sweden dropped a lot of questions on forms.

From people I know who live in sweden, the feeling is Covid killed two groups of people
1- the old and already I'll
                2- recent immigrants to sweden.

I know sweden has a lot more deaths than Norway.

Norway is very homogeneous and limits immigration.

Sweden has a lot of "EU" citizens - that live in parks and are beggars.
Sweden has a lot of legal immigration and refugee population

It's shocked me while vacationing in sweden the number of organized panhandlers sitting outside a shop entrance with pictures of family members / kids asking for money.

The beggars were all over Stockholm.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I have distant cousins in Sverige. My sister talks to them through snapface or something... They said they pretty much ignored it, treated it like the flu, and were responsible by not coughing on people and washing their hands after using the potty etc. You know, they acted like grownups. The vaccine was offered and never forced. Yes, Pfizer.

Truth. Even worse near Malmo from what I understand. A ton of drug use and liberal type conditions near the colleges.

Thank you gents. So from a vaccination standpoint, Sweden is similar to the US.

The counter spin appears to be summed up by asking: "At what cost?"

Comparing the responses of the UK, Sweden and Denmark to COVID-19 using counterfactual modelling

The UK and Sweden have among the worst per-capita COVID-19 mortality in Europe. Sweden stands out for its greater reliance on voluntary, rather than mandatory, control measures. We explore how the timing and effectiveness of control measures in the UK, Sweden and Denmark shaped COVID-19 mortality in each country, using a counterfactual assessment: what would the impact have been, had each country adopted the others’ policies?...

Our key conclusion is that under conditions of high growth and high infection prevalence, small differences in the timing and effectiveness of control strategies have dramatic effects on the resulting numbers of cases and deaths. Implementation of prompt and effective interventions minimised mortality. Denmark saw low mortality because it reacted early with highly effective interventions at a time of relatively low infection prevalence. The much higher mortality seen in the UK and Sweden occurred for different reasons...
A year and a half after Sweden decided not to lock down, its COVID-19 death rate is up to 10 times higher than its neighbors

Months before the first COVID-19 cases were detected, public-health experts ranked Sweden as one of the most prepared countries to handle a pandemic. But in March 2020, Swedish health authorities surprised the world with their unorthodox approach: Rather than locking down and requiring masks, as many countries did, Sweden let residents decide individually whether to take those precautions...

Sweden has recorded more COVID-19 cases per capita than most countries so far...

Had Sweden implemented tighter rules, experts told Insider, the country might have seen a COVID-19 death toll more similar to those Nordic neighbors...

Sweden did, however, still take some precautions: It closed high schools and universities in the spring of 2020, required social distancing in bars and restaurants, and asked the sick and elderly to stay home. Public gatherings were also limited in size to varying degrees over the course of the pandemic...

...one benefit of Sweden's approach, however, may have been less stress, anxiety, or depression among its residents...

"Countries that had mandatory restrictions have done better than us," Lars Calmfors, a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, told the Wall Street Journal in December...
So... You're not entirely accurate in what you describe. Initially, your description may have been fairly on point, but things did change in terms of countermeasures taken. In a nutshell, it's more the degree than a complete "absence of" when it came to countermeasures; i.e., while Government 'mandates' weren't the same, there were still 'restrictions' which, though mostly voluntary, were implemented officially.

But, leaving that aside, it all comes down to what you value and, thus, your last line is the most prescient... They are far more 'free' than the USA.

In a sense, as it relates to COVID, that's likely true and it has value. But, as I told you long ago and as many experts continue to remind, it's a comparison that may not be valid given all the significant differences between Sweden and other countries. It's utility is found in the overall differences in approaches; i.e., much like the first link above, it will feed comparative modelling, the results will be digested, but the conclusions drawn won't be as "black & white" as many seem to want to make them.

For me, personally, as I've said on several occasions... I'm not anti-vaxx. I'm not anti-mask. I'm anti- being told and forced by Government to "comply or else."

As to COVID being "over" in Sweden, uh... Swedish Health Agency sees COVID-19 spreading faster in coming months

Sweden is likely to see COVID-19 infections gain momentum in the coming months while the current curbs to limit the spread will need to be maintained until a higher proportion of the adult population is vaccinated, the Health Agency said on Monday.

Sweden, which has opted against lockdowns and mostly relied on voluntary measures, has experienced a lull in the pandemic during the summer with few deaths and hospitalisations. However, cases have risen in recent weeks and that trend is expected to continue as schools reopen and people return to work...

Image below is adjusted to per 100k, for cumulative deaths. California was lower than Sweden until people got vaccinated and started leaving home in the Spring.

I'm thinking: it ain't over until the fat lady sings, by which time everyone will be pretty much the same. Resistance is futile against COVID.
