Anyone else feeling the pressure?

you have it right brother!I'm feeling the internal pressure to remain peaceful in the face of increasing lunacy and incursions on freedoms and liberties. I'm old and the white coats don't scare me. I do worry about what will happen if someone really gets in my face. I pray about that nightly. Otherwise, life goes on.
I said over a year ago... it's going to take mental fortitude and spiritual awareness - to get through this crap...

I'm a healthy, unvaccinated, young adult. Wife left on a business trip earlier this week, and I developed cold-like symptoms a couple days ago. Told my wife about it and went to go get tested (twice), rapid and the 2-day test. Wanted to do this for my wife, since she'd have the opportunity to stay away from me with her parents if I was Covid-postive.
The rapid came back negative, still waiting on the longer one (the one I think CDC is recalling because it can't distinguish the flu and covid). But the doc said the rapid is accurate enough. As far as I'm concerned, negative means negative, so no covid. Hardly feels like a cold.
Instead of my wife being relieved, she's freaked out -- we both haven't been sick in years and she's having to interpret what's happening back home while on her business trip. She's talking to a bay area doctor tomorrow about getting the vaccine, and as politicized as this thing is, I know that bay area doc is not going to make any effort to help her make her own rational informed decision and will be pushing her into the vax.
I can't blame her. The television is pounding on the Delta like it's the end times. Feeling a bit defeated right now, because early on we both decided to let our immune systems work as intended, but my being cautious and deciding to test pushed her over the edge. In the end, this is her choice and not mine to make, and I can't help but feel the corner of my little world has been Fauci'd.vindicta inducit ad salutem?Comment

Welp, I just got a 7 am phone call from Mom, she talked herself out of getting the shot. I am kinda relieved, I wasn't looking forward to her having a "bad" reaction to the vaccine. My mom (84) decided she wanted to get the vaccine and asked me to schedule it for her. We go in tomorrow morning. She kept asking me if I am going to get it with her, and I told her no. I am kinda worried, she has bad reactions to just about everything, but I am screwed no matter what. If I told her not to get the shot and she gets sick, she would blame me. If she gets sick from the shot, she will blame me for not talking her out of it. Yeah, I am hosed.

This weekend my brother in law was just nagging the crap out of my wife to get the vax, going on and on about social responsibility and all that BS. My wife is very much against it and stood her ground. He wouldn't shut up so she just walked away. I'd have punched him. It is strange how rabid these psychos get. Its like a cult and they really really want you to join it. Worse than those religious people that come to your door and won't leave. At least those guys you can convince to do unpaid yard work... hahaha try it, they actually will work for free.vindicta inducit ad salutem?Comment

After or before your wife speaks to a "Bay Area Doctor" I would ask some questions.
How does a doctor know more about Covid, just because he's a doctor? Im not being a smart ars, im just asking. He does general medicine and jabs people with the vaccine - thats it. Did he study the vaccine or was he/she a part of the trials? Im assuming that answer is NO. So, how could a doctor who just practices medicine be more informed on the vaccine, unless he/she does research specifically about Covid.
What are the long term effects? Can anyone answer that question?
Another thing to think about - generally speaking - pre-covid the Anti Vaxers were predominantly made up of liberals "My body my choice" "Right to choose", etc, etc. Anyway, notice when Trump was in office how fast they switched their views? Now its "Get vaxed, phuck my body and its natural being, I want foreign chemicals raging through me and I love it".Last edited by downdiver2; 08-02-2021, 12:30 PM.sigpicComment

Doctors are obligated to follow CDC guidelines. They'll recommend accordingly.
My doctors and my kids's pediatrician never brought up the subject of COVID during wellness checks
The patient, ultimately, decides. Correctly informed or misinformed.
Or their workplace decides for them.Comment

My wife took our kid to his yearly checkup a few weeks back. The doc started to say something about the vax and my wife looked her in the eyes and sternly said no, and then demanded that she put it in his file that the boy is not to have any covid vax, period. The doctor just nodded and said ok and completely dropped the vax subject.Doctors are obligated to follow CDC guidelines. They'll recommend accordingly.
