COVID didn’t kill science, the Left has traded it for carefully crafted statements which illicit very high levels of emotion, which when paired with a constant, relentless disinformation campaign yields the Democrat voter immune and unable to process facts. There’s literally no hard data you can can put in front of them that would bring them back down to Earth.

The problem is that science has ceased to matter. It was once a useful tool for humankind, now it is a weapon.

Today this is the situation:
1) Kamala Harris claiming that getting vaccinated will end all the mask mandates
2) The CDC pushing for another mask mandate even for the vaccinated

It's a lot to figure out. (Actually it's not: This is all a heap of lies)

So..... all the detailed discussions here and around the world don't really amount to a hill of beans. Any actual scientific conclusions will be covered up or ignored.

Hey, I just talked about this , yes booster shot #4, does not cover the scientific method at all, how are these pHD people, who are either highly more educated or highly more indoctrinated believe in this stuff. I am gonna make an assumption they are high in IQ but not EQ, thus they got guilt tripped and thought they did the right thiing, but science is dead, waiting for them to change the timeframe of vaccine via definition/graph is next. YouTube is burning books now, so mainstream information is dead now too . Are you a scientist, if not, your more of a scientist than people with most people with scientific academic degree's....

Yes the analogy of your worst enemy checking you work is a valid one but what then because that's where we are at now.

With the force of federal governments across the world one side is being forwarded while suppressing the other with considerable penalty.

The other side is curing and preventing disease though technique that stemmed from actual patient treating medicine, a doctors intuition and training.

It's more than clear that there is a tremendous death toll for the suppression of Ivermectin and other compounds effective against Covid.
(I've read that number is a couple of dozen now)

It's beyond naive to surmise these results were not seen or the evidence they provide is unsatisfactory.

This leaves deliberate to my mind.

That is an excellent observation.

I've had a lot of fun working with a younger group of engineers lately who aren't used to blunt, lively criticism. I have to keep reminding them to stick up for themselves and commit to their work, and not to worry about even a heated design discussion -- because it leads to a better product. Or, at least, it does so long as all sides are professional, objective, and willing to change their own views when faced with superior evidence. They are getting it. They just haven't been exposed to this mindset.

Sadly, groupthink is everywhere these days. Here, too.

You can't kill science. The Inquisition tried. So did the Soviets and the CCP. Big Tech is taking a swing at it these days, and it's a good try, but it will fail. At the end of the day, nature doesn't care whether you rationalize your conclusions or not.

Ask Timothy Leary about it. He was doing legitimate experimentation not just drug trips. Of course the US saw a more sinister use of it that is still being used against us to do this day when Leary was trying to use it to heal and rehabilitate people. The US has had its own inquisition for a long time now...this is not "new".

Back in college one professor of mine once said you wanted your worst "enemy" to question your work because, if he couldn't debunk it then it had to be correct. Nowadays, questioning is heresy, opposing views need to be censored, and the "perpetrators" of such behavior punished.

Hah, you are lucky. You got a professor with a brain. Mine told us earth's human population will reach unsustainable number within 20 years. Which will exhaust our fresh water supply; fossil oil will be used up in 10 years; and food shortages will cause mass starvation. That was in the 90's. Never mind these so call "scientists" have been yelling either "Global Cooling" or "Global Warming" for the past 70 years. Remember the inventor of Internet and pants (yes, in that order) and almost a president Al Gore claimed the polar ice would melt in 10 years and all polar bears would be dead? So no, COVID did not "break" science. Science was broken long before it came along. This event just revealed the true face of many of so call "scientists" to even more people. It shows that they are no different than the Spanish Inquisition era religious zealots.
