My MIL (and my parents) see 100% of the 'news' from the MSM. Naturally they're all scared to death. No visits for the 2021 Thanksgiving or Christmas. Double masked, wear gloves when going out. They got the vax & booster.

Weekly zoom call:
- "Hi mom, dad. Hey things are pretty much open and life is back to normal!"
- "You'd better get the vax!! It's dangerous out there....there's a new Delta variant!"

This is my FIL. He's actually been yelling at my wife to get the kids vexed. "When they die it'll be on your hands".

I don't know if its because i've worked in tech R&D for 40 years and had to blaze trails and think for myself, but i notice many many people are happier being told what to think and what to do. I pitty them.

Before we knew the virus wasn’t all that deadly I was a mask wearing glove wearing disinfectant spraying machine.

For a full year, everything that came into our house was disinfected or quarantined for a week. We set up a sealed 2 mill visqueen “wet room” in the garage for disinfecting fully masked and gloved. I lived in our travel trailer for 2 weeks every time I had a possible exposure.

My point is that I am not averse to the possibility that this could have been a pandemic. Obviously I was wrong but errored on the side of safety.

The large hospital I work at in LA had 200 Covid19 patients admitted in January 2021. Cases dropped after the second wave to about 3-5 patients admitted for a few months. There has been a fast increase this last month. We are at 18-22 Covid19 admitted the last few days.
