Why wasn't it courteous to wear a mask until a year ago?

Personally I was wearing n95s in consideration of so much being unknown still,
having laid in a good stock while they were still readily available and spotting fauci as a liar straight off.

I expect that "a year ago" the motivation was more hoping to not get sick.

Some will say those that wear a mask are sheep but as far as the "courteous" part being human nature it's no secret that there are still some people around that could be nooged into a full on mental episode.

I should have said two years ago. Before covid, wearing a mask wasn't courteous, it was weird and stupid. Nothing changed.

Wearing a mask to make irrational people feel better is the same as conforming to people's gender confusion in my opinion. I don't need to wear a useless mask to make some freak feel better.

What is unknown? This is the most studied flu virus ever. We do know that masks wearing for the VAXed and recovered people is pointless. We do know that masks do little and have risks of their own. We do know that covid has all but run it's course. We do know that the Delta variant is almost innocuous, about like hay fever.

We know that the VAX are still classified as "experimental", not FDA approved, and only granted emergency authorization. We have no information on what the future may hold. The last people to be authorized for any drug are children and pregnant women. Yet, they are insisting those groups get VAXed ASAP.

Why would I believe people like Fauci regarding masks? He has demonstrated himself to be a political hack and pathological liar. Recall his group sent money to China to do gain of function research that is banned here. Trump stopped it, but to late.

Given all that why would I jab my children or wear a mask to "protect" myself against a played out virus?

My Mom(Conservative Republican)77 years old wears a N94 mask still. She has not gotten vaccine because she is not comfortable with it(new technology), she believes COVID could be a lab leak virus so she better protect herself, and she thinks the government is hiding the facts so until further notice she is a religious mask wearing conservative Trump supporter. She also says Oswald was not a shooter(just a fall guy) but she does believe the moon landing was real HaHa.
