IMO the vaccines are worthless. High fives all around anyway, you're all such 'good' people.

From what I've read to date, there have been two major ecosystems for viral mutation.

The first are hospital patients who were facing long term infection and were responding to antiviral drugs. Their bodies gave the virus an opportunity to mutate (The Kent variant and the SA variant I believe are examples)

The second was large populations with rapid quick fire spread where effectively the dice were rolled enough to create a successful mutation. (The Brazil and India variants I believe are examples).

I'm not convinced that vaccines will 'cause' variants. In principle if you lower the number of people in hospital and lower infections, you create a scenario where the dice are rolled less for a mutation. Vaccines might favor existing variants due to natural selection. IE if three variants exist in a population and 2 of the 3 can slow spread and or hospitalisation, then the vaccines will lead to their extinction leaving a new dominant variant. That's fundamentally different from 'causing' the variant.

I was recently encouraged to get vaxed by the liberal MD in the family. Here is my reply:

The fact is the vaccines have no long term safety record. The approval is on an emergency basis only. The mRNA vaccines have been in development for years. They have not been brought to market, until now, because development and safety problems. We are witnessing a human trial on a massive scale.

Your office is unusual, (she claimed all personnel were vaxed) many health care professionals are refusing the vaccine. Many are taking a wait and see approach, as am I. We could be looking at another Gulf War Syndrome outbreak in the years to come. Nobody knows one way or the other.

At this point the arguments for and against are academic. The epidemic is over. The virus has run its' course. We have reached herd immunity. See attached. It is my opinion that the possible risks from the vaccines is now greater than the risk of catching a virus that has all but disappeared.

I did not include it, but what is up with the financial incentives to get vaxed? That is super creepy. As of now, no medical reason exists to get vaxed.

Right. And that's why the MIT study recently revealed that those who refused masks were more well informed on the science that those who accepted them. Fact is they do nothing to protect you or anyone else.
