Paul and Fauci have been 'sparring' for awhile now. I suspect the more relevant aspect is what some of us have been saying about Fauci, particularly since he admitted to lying about masks in the beginning; i.e., where do you, personally, place your trust.

"And it's going to take an appeal from the medical community, from the doctors themselves, face to face with their patients, giving the vaccines in the doctor's office rather than these mass [vaccination] sites. While that may have involved only 19 "Trump voters," I suspect it's indicative of the problem. The Left has never understood why so-called "Trump supporters" don't simply follow Government advice, edicts, suggestions, etc. They've never been able to grasp that such individuals are not an hegemony and we don't all "think alike," where we allow the 'thinking' to be done by "our leaders" and we simply follow like lemmings.

In a sense, it's about Fauci/Biden believing their own press; i.e., that Trump is a cult-like leader and his supporters are simply duped, mindless disciples. From a different perspective, it's them projecting the way they 'govern' on to Trump, something that's been part of the media circus with Trump all along. But, that brings us back to what I and others have said about Fauci. When you spend a year listening to Fauci 'playing politics' with his medical assessments, then you hear, as he was quoted in that article...

Fauci said Sunday that it was imperative to remove politics from public health. Issues from the vaccine to the wearing of face masks have over the past year served as major dividers between politicians and their followers on the right and left.

"We've got to dissociate political persuasion from what's common sense, no-brainer public health things," he continued. "The history of vaccinology has rescued us from smallpox, from polio, from measles, from all of the other diseases. What is the problem here?"

...those who 'think' are left with the impression that not only is Fauci engaging in politi-speak again, he is, in essence, saying that one should simply "take our word for it" even knowing that Fauci, et al. will blatantly and deliberately lie or mislead if THEY feel it is for the greater good, regardless of the impact to individuals.

Worse. Those who have supported Trump and others as well have watched over the last year and know that COVID has been dealt with almost exclusively as a political, rather than as a medical, issue; where virtually every decision has been based upon or heavily influenced by political posturing, priorities, and for political purposes. So, saying that we NOW need to 'ignore politics' and simply OBEY an Administration from the side of the political aisle which has done absolutely NOTHING but politicize COVID from the beginning is not only specious, it raises 'red flags' regardless of the legitimacy of those 'warning signals.'

As has been lamented, what has been lost over the last year is the actual Science and, unfortunately, it's going to take more than a Dr. Fauci or former political figures to convince people looking for information that "their facts" are based in actual Science, unfettered by 'politics.' Just the omnipresent reality of Biden's statement regarding being more interested in truth than fact, coupled with the reality that there is considerable debate over the role of "Truth" when it comes to Science vs. "Fact," something that's even worked its way into pop culture...



At this point, "you pays your money and takes your choice" comes across as the more operative phrase than "trust us."
