It's Here Employee and Contractor Covid Mandatory Vaccinations Update Post 183

Just got off the phone about this. We have a customer who is requiring that our employees get vaccinated to be able to work on thier site. We do HVAC and plumbing. They are a convalescent home so they have priority and are saying they will have shots for us a vendors as well.

This is not a request. No vaccine, no access to the property, not even boiler rooms and mechanical rooms with no access to employees or tenets.

Other customers have brought this up.

I can understand a mandatory test, but forcing a vendor to get vaccinated sounds unreasonable and unlawful. If there is a reaction or consequence to getting the vaccine, will they agree to being liable?

It is a convalescent home. That is one of the most vulnerable populations. I think it is reasonable for them to require it and let the market dictate the price they pay. If no one wants to take the job, they will have to rethink their requirement.

Looks like they will do without then, most the people working for these companies will pass on getting it.

vaccinated doesn't mean you can't still get covid.

If any of your employees get sick because of the vaccine will they cover the costs?

Find out which of your employees want to be vaccinated then dedicate them to the vax-required accounts

"I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries; as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe."

So far only one has said he would get the vaccine at this time. It sounds like it could happen any day, this is a VERY high end and politically connected place.

That's too logical. Our work will demand the same thing. We have even not allowed vendors access to the building because they can't prove they have a million+ liability insurance policy naming us as co-insured for their work. Being over 70 they probably won't let me back unless I've been shot. I may become 7th day adventist and decline on religious grounds.

It's simply risk management. They need to protect their patients and staff and there will be problems if they don't. There are also false negative tests and you may have a delay between your testing and your showing up during which you could become ill.

And the quoted solution is the best you can get at this time.
