Been here a lot longer than you buttercup. So a new resident TROLL has come outa the shadows eh ? Or maybe I haven't followed the BLAH BLAH close enuff, Big Mike. Have at it mike, we still will not become ITS TWOO ITS TWOO believers no matter how much malarkey is cast about across this topic. And for what its worth, I still wear the same bandana I have used since april or may and it has not yet been washed. I ONLY wear it to get into the grocery store or my bank or LGS. And rip it off before going out the door I came in thru. Whatever floats your boat or your trolling methods.

I submit that wearing masks has contributed to the rise in the spread of covid. The masks available to the general public offer little to no protection. They are of inferior quality to those used by medical professionals, which are the ones mainly cited in the studies, and leak like a sieve. Testing also shows that wearing cloth masks releases more particulates when someone coughs than if they wore no mask. Those dirty cloth masks release a lot of contaminated particulates.
The BS about masks are for protection of others has encouraged people to go out, even though they are sick. People think the mask will stop them from infecting others. It gives people a false sense of security. It encourages reckless and inconsiderate behavior. The same effect is seen in elevators where people stick their arm in a closing door to trigger the door protective device and cause the door to open.
The wrong message has been sent out, as seen from a visit to any Lowes, Costco, etc. where people are seen walking around with a mask on, while having coughing fits. The government should be telling people that masks won't stop you from infecting people and if you have even the slightest symptoms stay home.Comment

Bureaucrats *aren't* telling you that you are sick. You're trying to imply that they are because the mask push is designed more for people who are asymptomatic. No bureaucrat is making a decision whether you're sick or not. That's simply silly.
For every study that supposedly says cloth masks are ineffective you can easily dig up studies that suggest the opposite. Like what has been done here already with the Vietnam study (which, again, didn't compare cloth masks to no masks; they compare cloth masks to standard procedure which usually involves masks).
Fact is, a great majority of medical professionals advise that wearing masks is important, especially when you consider the potential impact of viral load with regard to the severity of the final illness. There's plenty of studies that suggests wearing masks is quite beneficial, so choosing not to, while in the presence of other people, is simply selfish and childish.
No one's saying ... well, most aren't that I'm seeing ... that you have to wear a mask literally anytime you step out. Sure, go ride your bike alone without a mask. Take a walk. Whatever. But when you're around people, especially in doors, the mask is important. Remember too that the mask isn't supposed to stop 'viral particles'. It's designed to stop droplets to which virus can cling.-- 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0Comment

They do tell them this, and yet people ignore this all the damn time. That absolute cretin who died on that airplane is a perfect example.
You're wrong about the efficacy of the masks in general, but I think your point about a 'false' sense of security is a good one. But masks have never been recommended in a vacuum. No one that I've seen anyway has said "wear a mask and you're fine." It's always in conjunction with staying further away from people amongst other precautions.-- 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0Comment

Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

LOL, people always get triggered when they see a picture of smoke billowing out around a stupid useless mask.
But the mask will stop the virus don't worry!!
Does anyone take covid seriously?? I mean with a 99.97% survival rate what the heck are they worried about? Take the masks off (they don't do anything anyway) and enjoy life!Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

And the message has been wear a mask to protect others, which has caused people to believe they can go out if sick as long as they wear the maskComment
