Yep, and that is where we will always stand. Nothing is going to change their mind, nothing is going to change our (me, lifers) minds. Nothing. They do not value human life. That is why they love communism so much.

Sending Uighurs to concentration camps, sure. Torturing political dissidents, yeah, pretty much. Coerced sterilization, well that was the 80s, but guilty as charged. The CCP has done a lot of abominable things, but why would they need to cull their elderly?

The Chinese put a significant emphasis on what they consider "filial devotion". Taking care of parents is a major expectation; it is culturally taboo to send parents off to live at nursing homes. This does indeed present a burden to children (especially given the 1 child policy), but since children expect to have to do this the burden isn't a shock - like the way it would be here in the US, when grandma suddenly showed up on your doorstep to get away from the death trap covid19 nursing home.

It just doesn't make sense - especially when you consider that the disease doesn't JUST kill the elderly. Plenty of people in prime working years were killed in China, too, most notably the doctor that tried to get the word out in late December.

This idea is kind of like shooting off your foot to cure yourself of an infected toe.

IMO, science is on the side of the lifers but the choicers are very devout in their beliefs. So that’s where we stand.
