SD, can't quote on mobile so this is in ref to your 60000 die a week. I'm not sure that is accurate. In 2012 the total deaths in the year for LA was 58,000. That's old age, disease, accidents, etc. Which presumably are still happening. Traffic used to be low but these days seems just like normal now.

So yeah, 36 additional deaths in one day is kind of an issue, I think.

36 deaths is an incredibly small number, considering 60 thousand die each week from "all causes." Let's take that 36 and create a week out of it: 252
252/60000 = 0.004

LA is worried about less than 1% of all deaths?

LA is not the whole country. I don't know if those numbers are for the city or the county. Scaling by rough number of 3 1/3 millinon in LA city and 10 million in LA county multiply those numbers by 100 and 33

LA city (252/600) * 100 = .42
LA county = (252/60000) *33 = .14

43% and 14% seem like larger numbers.

I'm sure those are not actually correct, but as a rough order of magnitude they are a lot more significant than .004 are they not?

That is a weekly number, not a yearly one. It is 58000/7 = 8285. However, tat is the whole country.

Explain, how increased testing increased the test positivity and hospitalization rate?

Abbott is trying to advise caution but he is still not requiring the general public wear masks and is allowing us to remain open.

Easy many people already had the virus and had no access to testing now that we can test everyone obviously more cases will show up.

I have been to places in Texas in the last 2 weeks where hundreds of people are gathered and no one was wearing masks.

The other day at work I interacted with 34 people only 3 were wearing masks no one cares some people are going get it and get hospitalized fortunately for most people it is the old and immune compromised so that is why there is a general lack of concern.

Texas just doesn’t care as much, people are gonna get sick and some are gonna die.

We have single lane roads where you can do 65 mph with no center divider, motorcyclists don’t have to wear helmets in TX.

We accept that life is inherently dangerous CA does not.

I was just talking to my friend whos wife is some kind of heart specialist. She said people are dying because they are still afraid to come in for their heart issues. They don't want to get a flu... but then their heart issues take them out. She's spending her days taking peoples' temperature and is getting closer to the chopping block at the hospital as there is still nothing for them to do. The extra pandemic pay is just about over. She said she spends only a few hours a week actually doing heart stuff.

I'm thoroughly convinced this isn't about a virus, but about destroying this country.
