Ya I almost posted this article but didn't want to deal with the drama of non-objective people responding. In truth, again, people should be considerate of others by wearing masks in public areas and other known precautions for enclosed areas moving forward.
Yet there will be those who say this proves that (whatever they want to say/do/not inconvenience themselves at risk to others, etc). Blah.

The article seemed typical. Myopic health-care type who understands nothing else. Already blaming re-opening the economy, when air travel has never ceased!

Reading his page, you'll see this: "Indoor spaces, with limited air exchange or recycled air and lots of people, are concerning from a transmission standpoint."

The very definition of air travel. Yes, air travel is down by 95%, but that means there's still 5%, or about 100,000 people, spreading the virus all over the USA every single day.

That's more than enough Patient Zeros to keep infection rates up. Factor in all the other "essential" activity, and you've got more than enough to keep spreading happening, even though you're destroying the economy.

Read his article about the zillions of virii that get ejected at 200mph from every sneeze, and can fill a room from end to end, and think about that crowded flight from NY to Miami...then think about all those other flights, all over the nation, every day, day after day, and tell me how important it is that we destroy the rest of the economy....ooops, too late

The point: No reason to be panicky about the economy re-opening when we never clamped down on obvious, plentiful sources of viral spread like air travel. The horse is out of the barn, and for any who need it spelled out, the barn wasn't even a barn to begin with, so you could never have kept the horse locked up anyways.

I really don't understand how anyone with basic understanding of physics, biology, or just plain common sense can watch one of that woman's rambling videos and not see that she is clearly nuts. Or maybe she's not nuts, since she's probably raking in the dough from people lining up to buy her books and watch her "documentary".

The flu is not very deadly, so even if the virus is deadlier than the flu, it's still not very deadly, and is not really an issue for most people who get it. The bottom line is hospitals are empty, covid centers are being shutdown without having treated a single patient. It is now very clear that the virus is not nearly as bad as people thought, and we need to start opening up.

Hospitals are not being overrun, they are empty with workers laid off.

I think a good indication of whether things can "go back to normal" is if I see the Don rubbing elbows with all his supporters, giving hugs and high fives. Kissing babies, and so on - like he used to do.
