You would be better served to just take the debate about this virus off the board entirely and limit discussion to just firearms than try to suppress political debate about a disease that has been political from the very beginning. Everything we see now with how states and local jurisdictions are dealing with this is political. How do you discuss arresting a salon owner for opening up her shop without dealing with the politics behind her arrest?

You already have rules on how people on here can interact with others on here, so enforce those. If you can't do that, then eliminate all posts regarding this virus and anything not directly related to firearms ownership. You should also consider eliminating any political discussions of gun rights etc. I mean, if we can't have political discussions about the biggest threat to this country since WWII then we shouldn't have them for something as small as our gun rights.

I expect, should you do the things I mention, you will have a lot fewer active posters on here and your job as moderator will get quite a bit simpler. But, I really think the only posters here who agree with you about this are those that disagree with the majority of others on this board and do have a dislike for our current President which drives their commentary. You are allowing the minority to silence the majority, and that is wrong. From what I have seen over the years, it is the desire of the left to silence debate. Please don't let that happen here. That is my respectful opinion.
    Well said!!!

It was several bad actors (whom I'm not going to name because that thread I started in OT got deleted) on here that caused the crap show to begin with by posting biased articles & disinformation that fits their view or post inflammatory remarks in threads to provoke the other members. Their "voices" seems to be the loudest around here even though the majority here completely disagree with their views. They appear to be doing it to sow discord among us.They have been doing this for years here Unfortunately this virus has exacerbated this on Calguns.

Every aspect of this virus is political except the virus itself. When one scientific journal/doctor/scientist comes out saying one thing, another comes out shortly afterwards to contradict it. I can't count how many threads posted about the effectiveness & ineffectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine. IMO it's near impossible to remove politics from discussion of this virus and all the implemented policies that relates to it. All you can really do is moderate the heck out of it and reprimand members that violate the rules.

Instead, it's obvious there are some here who want to turn this sub-forum into a political bashing tool, knowing full well they're only doing it to stir the pot.

I think it's all but impossible to be 100% political free given the nature...but to make that the main focus under the guise of COVID information is not what this sub-forum was intended for.

This may fall under be careful what you ask for, but ...

It didn't really take long for the politics to again dominate the discussion here. People acting like idiots and making personal attacks on based on assumed political stances are now sadly the norm again here.

It's great to say all of that, but without any enforcement, your words ring hollow. It has become another OT forum filled with conspiracy theories and personal attacks.

I love it when Kes throws down the hammer.

I got banned from OT about a month ago for trying to make this very point. I realize now that it was very poor timing as you were trying to deal with a mass influx of new users as the lock down had just started and for that I apologize.

I've been waiting to request access to OT again until the lock downs are lifted and people start going back to work.

Would that be possible now? TIA.
P kicked me from OT about 10 years ago and I got a chaffed vajay-jay over it for a bit but in retrospect, freedom from OT is awesome. I would like to check in on some of the inside baseball perspectives on current events from time to time but I survive just fine without it.

Stay out of OT and life is good

Thanks, this pandemic is dangerous and its also used to exert power over the population by the means of politics and so on but its necessary to have it filtered. Much appreciated.

Continually updating questionable death counts on a daily basis is the very essence of "politics under the guise of COVID information." It is blatant trolling.

As such, I suggest a stickied thread in this forum with links to updated death counts. The trolls can post their "helpful" information there and only there rather than starting multiple threads on the matter and bumping them to gloat about how many have died.

Can we keep the meme thread? It's barely informative, but pretty funny.
