I am seeing WAY too much crap in this sub-forum that has NOTHING to do with COVID-19.
It's just a bunch of pissing and moaning about political crap, in some cases because people can not do so in OT.

SO...

NO POLITICS!!
This forum was intended for the factual discussion of the COVID-19 disease and it's affects, not so people could ride their hobbyhorse around acting like idiots.

That's the new rule, now the one warning.

Break this rule and you're gone from Calguns until 2021 or longer.
I'm not joking, I'm not playing and I'm not asking to hear opinions or whining about this.
I set this up to be of value to the Calguns community and some of you are turning it in to a *****pot.
I am NOT amused.

That said, there are wayyyyyyy to many people who can’t seem to resist taking every political advantage they can and bludgeon anyone who has different political views than their own. This leads anyone with a different viewpoint into a defensive posture. What is lost is the meat and potatoes of what this forum is here for; Discussion and understanding of the impact of the COVID SARS-2 corona virus.

Instead, it's obvious there are some here who want to turn this sub-forum into a political bashing tool, knowing full well they're only doing it to stir the pot.

I think it's all but impossible to be 100% political free given the nature...but to make that the main focus under the guise of COVID information is not what this sub-forum was intended for.

I got banned from OT about a month ago for trying to make this very point. I realize now that it was very poor timing as you were trying to deal with a mass influx of new users as the lock down had just started and for that I apologize.

I've been waiting to request access to OT again until the lock downs are lifted and people start going back to work.

I have to say that there is absolutely no way to take politics out of the conversation. The reopening of the economy alone is political. The government's response to the disease is political. The way the press and the elected politicians are dealing with this is political. Even those posters posting their version of the "facts" are being political. You would be better served to just take the debate about this virus off the board entirely and limit discussion to just firearms than try to suppress political debate about a disease that has been political from the very beginning. Everything we see now with how states and local jurisdictions are dealing with this is political. How do you discuss arresting a salon owner for opening up her shop without dealing with the politics behind her arrest?

You already have rules on how people on here can interact with others on here, so enforce those. If you can't do that, then eliminate all posts regarding this virus and anything not directly related to firearms ownership. You should also consider eliminating any political discussions of gun rights etc. I mean, if we can't have political discussions about the biggest threat to this country since WWII then we shouldn't have them for something as small as our gun rights.

I expect, should you do the things I mention, you will have a lot fewer active posters on here and your job as moderator will get quite a bit simpler. But, I really think the only posters here who agree with you about this are those that disagree with the majority of others on this board and do have a dislike for our current President which drives their commentary. You are allowing the minority to silence the majority, and that is wrong. From what I have seen over the years, it is the desire of the left to silence debate. Please don't let that happen here. That is my respectful opinion.
