I think their are some people in the Red States that value limited government, but I have sadly concluded they are completely outweighed by the huge mass of takers and chicken****s in this country. I wish it was otherwise.

I understand your frustration - It's hard not to feel that way these days... I've lost a lot of faith in society too - but pro gun states will not relinquish 2A rights.

The covid thing was the perfect storm for overzealous kooks... the were very crafty with their strategy... but the tactics used for the panic virus wouldnt work on guns.

Notice how the peacefully armed protests are in 2A friendly states? See how the government is willing to loosen it's grip first in places like TN, GA, and TX? See why in WY, SD, and UT there are less restrictions? The government respects and even fears the armed citizen.

Let's take CA, let's say Gavin decides to shut it down until 2021 sometime. Who's going to protest and with what leverage? You cannot have an open carry protest as a show of force in CA without a very real fear of arrest and having your weapon confiscated. You cannot carry a visible weapon in public in CA, virtually anywhere. How convenient is that for the state? The chances of an armed protest by a regulated militia in the state of CA is almost zero because all they have to do is arrest you on any number of weapons charges and tie up your life and your weapons in court for the foreseeable future.

In CA you have no 2A, so you have no 1A.

Now let's take Tennessee or Utah. The government there has virtually no power to stop a group of 200 armed citizens from openly protesting with their loaded weapons displayed in public. Like right in the city park. What is the government's recourse if they don't like it, order to disperse? And what if they don't? They aren't breaking any laws, they are exercising constitutional rights. Are you going to risk a shooting war with these people, order the cops to shoot their dad and their neighbor? of course not.

States know if you push hard enough it comes to this, you're already seeing it. The leftists and the weak minded on the right call them morons and virus spreaders, I call them patriots. The states that have the strongest 2A rights are pretty much the same ones with the least restrictions or the earliest lift of the lockdowns. This is no coincidence.

If anything good comes from all this, I hope it opens some eyes.

After being on this forum for over a decade and meeting a ton of members in real life I realized what you are saying is just a fact. I met only a handful of people that are not cowards and knew CA would never rise up against the tyrants so I moved to TX to see if Patriots actually live here they do and in much larger numbers than in CA.
