A tracking app could still be done in a way that preserved privacy and doesn't share the data outside of the app.

Why are we so eager to give our government the right/ability to track us without a surveillance warrant? Aren't a few basic human rights being violated here like:

The right to privacy (4th amendment)
Freedom of movement (Privileges and Immunities Clause COTUS)
The right to peacefully assemble (1st amendment)
The right to security of personal affects without warrant (5th amendment)

Just got done watching the news conference where we were supposed to get a plan.

In summary:

- they have a plan to make a plan but aren't releasing the final plan

- we have to wait 2 weeks before they release the final plan and set a schedule (its like they were part of CGF or something lol)

- They were asked what the testing capacity needs to be to start the plan. The couldn't answer and went in circles for 3 minutes.

- They are still using a model graph from a month ago that shows astronomic numbers that are so big you can't actually make out the current data its so low.

- They put a 6 step indicator on when they will be ready to start to open. Looking at that list, a few were irrelevant IMO (therapeutic coordination for instance ) and others we probably have. The one we don't is the testing and tracing.

- He mentioned an approved App. so I think we will be going the way of other countries where we may be forced to travel with an app. The chinese one uses a stoplight system where in if you get close to another person that was infected you go red and must stay home. There is also a yellow and green setting.

- Reading between the lines it looks like we probably wait two weeks then get guidance for reopening 2-3 weeks after that, so the state is probably looking at the end of May/start of June

- One definitive statement for the start of reopen was that ICUs need to plateau and decline over two weeks. (Looking at the data, ICUs already hit a plateau around Thursdays of last week)

- Also reading between the lines it appears that the state will be issuing guidance but it will be left to counties on when and how they act.

He is going to take two weeks so he and his people can send up trial balloons to see just how much more people are willing to take before they really start pushing back. Like myself and others have said they have let it slip this is going into June or longer.

There was just a report today that "social distancing" will need to stay in place until 2022 or until a vaccine is found. That means no large gatherings what so ever. This would mean a total meltdown of life as we know it. How much are people willing to put up with? It's going to be interesting to find out.

Sorta, kinda quoting myself from another thread. The Constitution has not been and cannot be suspended. Period. The Federal Government cannot restrict travel between the States, cannot prevent practicing the religion of your choice as YOU see fit, cannot restrict the Freedom of Assembly, cannot restrict the Freedom of the Press (a shame in certain instances), cannot restrict the acquisition of firearms and ammunition etc., etc. The 14th Amendment places these same restrictions upon the State Governments. In addition, the Federal Government has sole jurisdiction over commerce between the States. If the President tells companies to start servicing their out of state customers, the Governors have no say so. This should all very clear if one has read the Constitution. The Government should immediately and loudly be called out with vigorous pushed back for ANY infringement of the People's Rights. yet, common sense and good neighborliness requires that we do just that. Interesting times we are living in. Yet, the Government should be, in fact has a duty to, strenuously SUGGEST we follow their clearly unconstitutional, but undoubtedly effective, guidelines. Exercising your Rights can NEVER be a crime, but sometimes, perhaps in this case, it can be wrong to do so. That is a choice for the individual to make, not the Government. Like all choices, there should be consequences if one chooses to be less than considerate of others. No mask? No service. Anywhere. By policy of the business, not the Government. Not maintaining proper distance? Get called out, loudly, and get backed up by others standing nearby. But none of this should be mandated by the Government.

Just my thoughts and they have whatever value you care to attach to them.

Oh, and as far as requiring an app to travel? No, hell no! Hell to the no! F*($ no! I will not ask for the Government's permission or approval to go about my daily life. Not even for a moment. This is the equivalent of Nazi Germany's "papers". The pushback on this should include a credible threat of tar and feathers along with torches and pitchforks, or whatever today's equivalent.

And if you ask me, I will tell you how I REALLY feel about it.

Maybe that would be enough in areas we aren't packed into subway cars. Our current numbers are way better than anyone expected. It's really hard to say but ya, it's not looking as deadly as initially thought and that's great news.
