It has happened many times in the past and it will happen again.

    Agree 100%.

I've noticed a few counties and cities are saying that law enforcement will act if people stop obeying the order. There's been a story or 2 posted here recently. Perhaps martial law is on its way?

If things get out of hand law enforcement will handle it for as long as they can. If things get worse the NG could be called in to help maintain order in certain areas but that is still not Martial Law.
Martial Law will only be declared as a last resort because it comes with it's own set of laws. The military will be in complete control and habeas corpus will be suspended.

I just saw - and now of COURSE can't find - a headline that said something to the effect of "newsom says stay at home order will require 'social pressure'"

Might be a sign people aren't listening & further restrictions will be imposed..who knows....

I think it was in the LA Times if anyone wants to look.....

Would this be a good time to invest in my first chest rig or plate carrier?

                        Yes absolutely.

Personally, I'd go with a plate carrier.

You can remove the plates for weight savings, but still have tons of real estate to carry mags, first aid, other essential supplies.

                        I think it's a very good idea.

I am pleasantly surprised we have not already had major civil disturbances since the lockdown, unless the lockdown is not being enforced in trouble zones, or disturbances are not being reported.

Perhaps even gang members fear for the health of their moms and grannies?
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." (Thomas Jefferson)

A lot of them would shoot their own moms and grannies if told to do so or if they thought they could make a buck out of it.

So much for "balcony singing" being the great panacea.
