That's what I've been predicting. Summer colds aren't very common.

Trouble is summer/warm weather is still a couple of months away.

When someone says "Kung Flu" why do I hear Paul Lynde saying it as Uncle Authur from bewitched?

Singapore is tropical, and warm in the "winter". They have a MULTITUDE of cases. Warm weather will not stop it. MAYBE warm and dry, like AZ/NM/TX/NV/So.CA. but don't count on it. this thing is NOT influenza.

China to Singapore is a relatively short flight in international terms with heavy loads. Its all about proximity and ease of travel.

Singapore has 19 cases....all from Chinese travelers. Please stop the panic posts.

The country moved fast to identify every single contact of every infected person - and it worked.

Warmth / humidity isn't the be-all, end-all solution. It's also exposure to the infected, and Singapore / China travel is like LA/OC travel -- there's tons and tons of it.

Same with Oz -- the most infected area is NSW -- lots of Chinese, lots of Chinese travelers, and lots of travelers, period (to / from all nations).

So yes, warmth / humidity will limit the spread, but good weather isn't a license to believe you're immune

                              Exactly.

These flus should all be named after some creature eaten at a "wet" Chinese market. Next up: The Dog Flu
