My 590A1 setup...
A little hard to see...I have a tri-rail barrel/magazine clamp. It's pretty cheap...20 bucks I think on EBay...but it works well with my TLR-1. The switch on the TLR-1 is easily reacheable with my left hand on fore-end. It is aluminum. However, be sure to really tighten it down. I took a shotgun class and by the end of the day some of the screws were getting loosend up.

Anyone have a nice cheap mossbery 9 shot from big 5 sporting goods? With a light mounted? I was looking at cheaper than dirt for the top mounted pic rail, that goes from front barrel to body on the top, I guess a x300 or tlr-1 could be mounted at the end, but anyone else have any other solutions to mount a light?
Images would be helpful of your setup.

all this talk about light setups makes me wanna finish my 982. that nordic setup looks very nice with a TLR-1 but i still prefer something mounted on the magazine tube only."1911 mag, twinkie, twinkie, cupcake, primary weapon mag"

I agree about the Surefire, but add about $50 if you decide to go LED...cheap & nice are hard to put in the same sentence. In the past I have ended up spending more money buying cheap because the cheap breaks and you have to replace it or it ends up looking stupid. You cant go wrong with a surefire rig but it will set you back 350 bucks.
or you could buy some cheap scope mounts and mount a light to it that way."What is a moderate interpretation of the text? Halfway between what it really means and what you'd like it to mean?"

I just managed to grab a new 623LMG on a speical order for about $400. 200 Lumens, disable switch and Surefire quality build. I'll try to post a pic when it arrives."What is a moderate interpretation of the text? Halfway between what it really means and what you'd like it to mean?"

It's a little more money than some of the thinner walled aluminum clamps or the cheaper Tacstar but not as much as some of the premium cost clamps. There are advantages to the MT clamp that nobody else has. One screw holds it together and it threads into a steel insert instead of threaded aluminum. Steel is naturally a better option because it won't strip out and you can really crank it down without fear of stripping the threads. I'm sure someone, somewhere in the world has stripped out a helicoil or similar threaded insert, but you gotta know that it's still better than thin walled stamped metal clamps or threaded aluminum. You can also reach the screw without taking any of the rails off. There is an access hole in all rails to be able to do this. You can get 3 slot or 6 slot picatinny spec rails. The 6 slot rails can be mounted in 2 positions. You can also mount a push button sling swivel when you mount an optional dock on one side. For 8 shot Mossbergs and Winchesters, this lets you mount a sling above the forearm instead of off the end of the mag tube. This mount will also work on the 590A1 mag tube (shown). Lights are mounted optimally for natural finger drop on a TLR-1 or tail cap clickie flashlight. The mount puts the light right where your fingers would end up on the forearm. No need to shift your grip to turn a light on like you would on an under mount. Flashlights need scope rings to mount but you can double up your scope rings on the 6 slot for a rock solid setup that won't move under recoil. You can even use the mount as a recoil stop for a heat shield. Oh, and they weigh in at about 1.5oz! That's the beauty of aircraft quality 6061 aluminum.
It's not everybodys option, but from duct tape, plastic and stamped metal to a premium cost clamp, you can't beat the quality, price and thought that went into the design. Below are some customer pics. More at the website.

Is that a 500 or 590? What kind of heat shield and forearm do you have there?Tri Rail Mount.
