    Knoxx + Sling mount?

anybody running a knoxx spec-ops stock while using a rear sling plate such as this one,

the reason i ask is because the mounting screw for the knoxx seems to not go into the receiver that deep. if you are running a set up like this let me know how you like it.

I prefer not to use the stock mounted sling attachments because i am running the power pack on the stock and the sling mount on the butt of the stock, well it just doesn't seem that sturdy.

    You mean like this:

Yes, it works just fine. Burnsed sling loop adapter, made by Daniel Defense, on my 870. Very sturdy (it's a substantial piece of metal) and has not interfered with the operation of the gun or stock.

Note the additional gap that it causes between the pistol grip and the trigger guard.

My current setup is the Wilderness single point sling in the picture. I've been thinking about trying out some other sling options -- not to fault the sling mount, it's just the inherent characteristics of a single point sling. Single points are great for maximum flexibility and range of motion, but they suck at retaining any control over the gun once you let it go. The shotgun just dangles and bangs around (plus it's relatively long & heavy and I'm not that tall). In the limited confines of a home for self defense it could be handy, but I've used this shotgun in some matches and humping it from stage to stage with a single point sling is not great. I basically ended up just unclipping the sling and not using it at matches.

I'm pretty happy with a two-point sling setup on my AR (buttstock to rear of the front rail), so I wanted to try it out on this shotgun -- but haven't yet spent time to figure out the best way to do that (i.e. which sling mounting points to use).
